I made a reservation for camping on the Lowe's Motor Speedway property yesterday.  As I have written on previous posts, I have wanted to camp at a race for a long time.  It was one of the reasons I decided to get a camper vs. staying with our tent.

I called the camping number for Lowe's and they said they have a reservation system for the open lots.  This way I can go set up my camper early & feel safe that our site will not be messed with.  I have tickets for the friday night Nextel All-Star qualifying & Craftsman Truck Race and the saturday night Nextel All-Star Race.  My son & I will be able to stay friday & saturday night after the race.

I can't wait!! I will post our site # when it comes in mid April.

That sounds like a lot of fun to be camping for the big race.  Let us know what kind of nightly rates you are going to have to pay.  Someone told me they jack up the rates during the race weekends.

Have a great trip.  It sounds like fun. :)

Hope to see you there! I'm planning to leave as soon as I get off work the Thursday before the All-Star race. That should put us there around midnight Thursday night. I'm supposed to have the same site I had last year (in Morehead Farms), since I renewed the reservation. If so, the number is F69. We'll be there until the Monday after the 600.

Just got back from Bristol this past Monday and I'll be leaving for Martinsville in two weeks! Racing and camping season is underway! Yay!!!!

Just saw your question about the rates, B-Flat. They jack up the prices in the Fleetwood campground (the only one with hookups) big time!! It's over $400 per event for race weekends.

But for the rest of the campgrounds, it's a flat $50 per event. It costs me $100 to stay there for the All-Star race and the 600. Since we're there about 10 days, that's not bad! Of course, there are no hookups, but there's a really nice bathhouse, plus they have water available and lots of portapotties throughout the campground.

Sounds good.  My daughter is thinking of camping that weekend, so I will pass the info along.  It's been a while since I have been there, so the newer campgrounds are kind of unknown to me.  I know Fleetwood (owned by Tom Johnson camping) is continually being upgraded but regular rates are around 28-30 bucks a night.
