Gone-Camping

Well, the Spring Fling at Pocahontas SP is scheduled for this weekend. Lucky me, I paid for reservations to this thing last year before I tried a new career, so the only thing this is going to cost me is fuel and food. Oh, and no kids this weekend...seems grandpa is taking them to Mo. to visit with their Mom (they haven't seen her in six years). So it's going to be a VERY nice weekend!

And since I have the connection kit with my cell phone, I'll be able to log-in right from the campfire! I'll be on the way tomorrow afternoon (not that I can afford to take Friday off, but being the WagonMaster I guess we just have to make that sacrifice!!! :D

BARDENL

We're leaving here around noon Friday.  Can't wait!

If I had any resaonable amount of income, I would be very tempted to buy a laptop too ! Being able to connect anywhere is soo attractive !

Enjoy your camping trips, and send us some pictures ...

Cliff,

I know you've had your fair share of difficulties lately, but I'm glad to see that you still have your priorities right! :D

Wow..I saw 4 PUs sitting stopped in traffic on I-95 South yesterday afternoon as I went zooming home in the HOV lanes. I wondered if any of them were headed to the Spring Fling.  Sure were a lot of big RVs and TTs on the road too.

It very well might have been one or more of our group. We had several arrive today from either northern Va. Md, or Del...

Louise did a great job of helping put this all together, we had what we thought were 15 total campsite's, which dropped to 13 after SheBantam dropped out. So going with the list Louise gave me this morning, we picked out and marked off 13 site's for our group, almost the entire C-Loop. Then about 9 pm two more arrived, claiming to be part of the group. They were, but they never posted their Reservation numbers, so Louise wasn't able to track them! Those two arrived together and wound up on the other side of the campground.

I wish we could have got them closer to us, but the campground is full. One site near us is scheduled to vacate next door to Photospread's site tommorrow, and we'll move "Kahuna" into that one.

We had a group fire over at Hoosier's site. Those that remembered the PUT Campout at Westmoreland SP will recall Budman & Hoosier wound up on the other loop away from the rest of us. They managed to be center stage this time around!!!

Weather was absolutely perfect the last 2 days, and is suppose to be fairly nice most of tomorrow. Calling for some rain Saturday night, and into Sunday morning... perfect for packing up a bunch of PU's for the trip home. Guess we'll see lot's of canvas drying out on Monday!

Pot Luck dinner tomorrow night at the Group Dining Hall, I'll have the computer and the cell modem on hand for that!

From those of us not camping this weekend--thanks for letting us live vicariously through you, Cliff! Cheers!:!

....the next best thing to being there, with the connections right from the campground.  Oh, I wish I were camping but I have to work tomorrow.  Sunday I will be going to the sunrise service and breakfast buffet afterward.

I saw lots of TT, popups and MH going down US 1 and 15-501 through my area yesterday.  Today I went to a few stores and it was almost like Black Friday....no parking places, crowded aisles, and so forth.

Yep, they're almost as much fun as the "Live from the trip across the country" posts! ;)

I love people who are dedicated to camping and their fellow campers! :D
