Enjoyed the Boston Marathon!

Well the kids and I stood along the route and watched the 20,000 or so runners do their paces for the Boston Marathon!!!  It was a gorgeous day here in the Boston area, hot for the runners though which made for a lot of dehydrated runners, etc.  Heard the local EMS couldn't keep up with the emergency calls along the route.  We've had nothing but cold weather here for months which locals have all been training in, and then today 80 degrees and sunny and hot!!!  Talk about not having time to acclimate to the weather!!

It was a really nice day though and you see all kinds of runners and "characters" running!!!!!!!!!!!!!  A couple of ingenious young men wore shirts that said "Are you single?  Call ........" they got a big round of applause as they ran by!!  Also saw a Superman run by and a Superwomen, and Flash, he has a red running suit, and lightening bolts on his ears and feet!!!!  You see all types running from young to old!!
My neighbor ran for the first time ever and we actually were able to pick her out of the thousands of people that ran by, we all let out a huge scream and cheer for her as she went by!!  Just saw her getting home with the family actually about an hour ago still wrapped up in those space blankets they give the runners.  Hope she won't be too sore tomorrow...but SHE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!
