One of the things I hate to find at cg's is a very trashy fire ring.

First of all, aluminum doesn't burn in a common campfire. It just won't. Don't try to. Your campfire is no different.

Second, wet things don't burn for a while. Usually your fire will go out before it burns, and that leaves it for me to clean up. Don't try this either.

Third, don't burn plastic. Besides all the nasty chemicals it releases, it leaves a residue for the next camper (ME) to clean up.:mad:

Just be a good citizen and put your garbage in a BAG, and carry it to the garbage can/dumpster. I know it's a drag, but it is a good thing.

I carry a fold up shovel in the truck, pretty much just for cleaning out nasty fire rings! UGHHH! (That coming from an experienced nurse with a strong stomach).:banghead:
