Quote from: MommaMiaTrust me folks.... it was WAAAAAYYY easier for me to clean it up. If I had left it up to them, SIL would have told her DH to do it and he would have put it off way longer than it would take for the potty bowl to fill up completely! Then they would have made a total mess trying to get it emptied and I would have been left cleaning up the aftermath. Ohhhhh... I wanted to leave it for them. But I know them. I know how it would have turned out.
That's exactly how I would have felt as well.  They would never have cleaned it up to my satisfaction.  But Cindy, I do have to say that your description of the mess in your initial post was waaaaaay TMI!!!!!!!!!! :yikes:

Yeah, what she said!

It is TOO funny--we all jumped in and said MAKE THEM CLEAN IT UP,  :yikes: and I bet there is not a single WOMAN  among us who would have done that!  And why?     Because we are too polite? Nope  Because we were brainwashed by Mama that we should always be "a gracious hostess"?  Nope. :(

Nope, we'd all have had exactly the same reason!     :banghead: :swear:

:J BECAUSE NOT A SINGLE ONE OF US WOULD HAVE TRUSTED  ANYONE ELSE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH TO DO AS THOROUGH OR GOOD A JOB OF CLEANING UP AS WE KNEW WE COULD!  :J

AND BECAUSE WE ARE ALL COMPLETELY  :screwy:

Ok ladies, there are men reading this board, do not spill the beans and let us see how much of a cleaning freak you might all be :):):):):)

To be honest, I would also not let the guest do it even though I would want to ! Same reasons, first they would spill it all voer my new carpet and new house ! Second they could never do a good enough job of it. ! Sigh ....

Whenever I have guests, I am the hostess with the mostest. ;)   However, I have a certain tolerance level for those who "overstep their welcome," so to speak.  I would just look them in the eye and say, "I need you to come here and help me do this....here hold this bucket while I get this down to a reasonable level......here's some gloves for you to hold the bucket and we'll just do this on the lawn in the corner so it won't spash out." :yikes:

Funny thing...

I have almost done the exact same thing to myself. Don't remember which cg, but the waste tank was almost full, and I think one more flush just barely overfilled it. So off I went to the dump station early in the AM.

I think the lesson here is to not fill the clean water tank. That water, plus any fluid "put" in the potty will likely be more than what the waste tank can hold. I don't fill the clean water tank anymore...I think that was the root of my problem.

Quote from: MommaMiaSigh.... I do love them but visiting relatives are like fish.  After a few days they both start to stink.
My parents bought a place on Lake Huron when I was a kid, and there was a little guest house on the property with a sign that said the same thing (substitute guests for relatives) that the previous owner had posted inside, not entirely tongue-in-cheek, I'm sure. I used to think it was pretty funny. Then I grew up and moved to Florida after college, and just as Elisa said, friends and relatives would use our home as their free hotel room, maid service and restaurant included. When my in-laws came down for their first visit, they stayed 3-1/2 weeks on the sofa bed in our one bedroom apartment! DH got an earful after that and future visits were much shorter. Then when we bought a house, DH's former boss came down with his wife and she made herself right at home, even though we barely knew her. She would adjust the thermostat to her liking, turning the A/C way down without even asking. They weren't invited back. We had friends and relatives visiting us all the time. We did enjoy the visitors, but some of them just didn't get it. We rarely have overnight guests now that we're back in Michigan, although my in-laws still don't get the relatives/fish rule, but they only stay for 1 week now instead of 3-1/2. Relatives... :banghead:

I thought only our culture had these kind of problems ! In a way I am glad to see that we are not alone in this :):):)
