Anyone know the thread side on the fresh water tank drain plug on newer Coleman trailers., I want to replace the plug with a drain valve for more easy draining of the tank. Problem is I want to buy the parts before pulling the trailer out of storage to do the work.

On my 1999 I installed a 1/2 inch male ball valve. :)

Tracy's right.
The tank has a 1/2" female thread.

Here's a photo of how I did mine, using an elbow, and a 12" length of pipe, before the valve, so I don't have to crawl under the trailer to open the valve.

JUst crawl under there and pull out the drain plug.  Take it to Home Depot with you and match it up.  That's what I did.

Good luck.

On second thought, I think I'll run a pvc line and bring the drain th the outside edge of the trailer. That way I won't have to crawl under the trailer to drain the tank!

I like your mod.  Do you have any problems with it?
