Should we stay or should we go?

We are planning a weekend at our favorite state park.  Problem is, the weather is calling for 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms for Sunday.  What would you do?  We've been at this place when a massive storm came through last year and it wasn't fun.  What would you do?

I am sure it is a personal thing but we would GO....We always enjoy getting out.  Sure, the weather can be better at times but it is always worth it once you get there.  We have had some of our best times in the rain!  Go for it!

I'd say go also.  I'd take the chance, you still have Fri and Sat.... maybe you can get most of the stuff packed on Sat eve and just tear down Sun morning... and if your weather is anything like ours, you may end up with perfect weather still on Sunday.

I would go.  The weatherman around here is usally off by a long shot on the weekend weather.  It wouldn't hurt to check again before you leave, but I don't really think they can forecast that accurately more than 3 days ahead.  Wind can change directions and hot and cool temps affect a lot of things.  Go for it!  As for me, if I stayed home, it would not rain at all.

One of our main reasons for going from a tent to the popup was so that we wouldn't have to cancel any campouts anymore. The weatherman is usually wrong, and even if it does rain, it usually doesn't rain all day. And if it does rain, at least you'll be camping! Unless massive storms happen there frequently, I wouldn't think twice about it.

I would say go,  something can be said for meeting the challenges of adversity and the fulfillment that brings.  Besides,  weather men have been known to be wrong a time or two.  Consider even taking down early Sunday morning if thats an option,  sure beats sitting home all wekend and losing the entire trip.

Gone-Camping

I have canceled a few trips in the past base on weather forecasts, and each and every one of turned out to be a truely poor forecast, as the rains predicted never happened. So now we just go anyway, unless it's forecast for 100% washout!

The Spring Fling was suppose to have a deluge Saturday night and all day Sunday, barely saw a couple of sprinkles on Saturday evening and that was about it. Shows you how much the weather guessers really know!

Campaholics

I would go too, unless the day of departure forecast is for tornados.

We also moved from 17 years in a tent to a PU due to chancy weather in May (three Memorial Day weekends running the weather was rotten).  Now, fire up the furnace and curl up with a good book.

Our first trip is two long weeks away, and we are going rain or shine.  I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.

Go, you'll have a great time no matter what.

Go and if it rains you can peek out your windows to pity any tent campers and perhaps see if any Class A's get hit by lightening.

Go.  Some of my favorite times camping have been curled up on the bunk end, listening to the rain, reading a good book.  So relaxing!

Go ... Little bit of rain won't harm anyone ! Last year we got flooded by rain , had to relocate the tent from the swamp it was floating after rain (It was in 4" of water) , we still had fun and loved it !

Faced with this same quesiton for the week-end, except we are looking at all but Sunday with a chance (varies depending on time of day) of rain.  At this point, we are going.  We would lose all but $8 of a prepaid week-end; and are only 20 minutes from home.  If it gets REALLY bad, we will escape for a bit.  This is the first trip in the new-to-us pu, so we really want to go.

Well..I'm one that probably wouldn't go....and it's only because we can't keep our PU at home, it has to stay in a storage lot. Actually....we aren't going this weekend because it's supposed to start raining on Saturday evening and rain through Monday.  We have no place to set it up to  dry.  However, if rain was for every day except the day we had to pack up and go home then I would go and just let it dry out on the last day before we packed up.  We are backward from everyone here.   Rain and our tent didn't bother us. We could shake out the tent and set it up in the yard  (or basement) to dry.    Rain and a folded popup just isn't a good thing.

I thought the rule was if the PU is wet when you come back home, you just popped it out again and let it stay under rain till sun came out and dried it ?
