This girl's actions are a very sad statement about out society. Chad is lucky to have a dad as caring as you, and he will come out the winner in the long run.

We try our best to raise our boys to be kind, and to avoid people like that spoiled girl, since you can't fix 'em, and they'll only let you down. Unfortunately the timing of this life lesson is really lousy for your son, but hopefully he'll come though wiser and relatively unscathed. I hope he has a great time tonight.

I'm very happy to report that they are there and I'm sure they are having a great time.  The store employees purchased Holly's dress, had her hair done at the salon, did her makeup and the whole nine yards.  Absolutly no cost to her.  Here is a picture of them.  I have one very happy son right now.  Thank You all.

Well....It doesn't get any better than that.
What a nice looking couple! What is that going from ear to ear? :p

What a great picture, and such really nice kids!   I'm sure that they are both having a good time, and hope that "Paris Hilton" gets lost in the mall.   I guess that's not very nice of me, but .......

Please fill us on tomorrow on the whole story, you have a lot of truly interested and caring friends who want to know.   And give that son of yours a hug from me.

Wow, I go off to a Saturday night music making with DH, the banjo man, and come back here to find that I missed the action.  It is so nice to see the picure of the beautiful smiling couple on their way to the prom. As for your son, he is much better off with the girl who is a friend and she looks happy to be going with him.  My DH is a shy type also but he has come out of that quite a bit.  You son will be  less shy when he gets older.

There's an old saying that what goes around, comes around, so it will come around to haunt that silly little girl who had no intention of going to the prom in the first place. :compumad:

SCD, what an adorable picture and what darling kids!  thanks so much for sharing this with us.  We feel almost like the "proud parents" ourselves!

This is such an inspiring story where nice guys DONT finish last, where the people at JC Penney obviously know two great kids when they see them and where  we all can  take joy in knowing there are still some mighty fine people sharing spaceship Earth with us:# :S :#

Adorable Kids ! I hope they had the best of the time last night ! Please do tell us  ;)

I'm VERY happy to report that the prom went extremely well. Holly
(girl #2) looked just beautiful.

I would like to thank everyone at JC Penney at 12 Oaks Mall for
everything they did for the kids. The employees got together and
rallied to get Holly ready. They purchased her dress, got her hair
done at the store salon, did her makeup.
It cost her absolutly nothing. When Chad showed up at the store you
would have thought the queen of England was there. Everyone (I
don't know who was left running the store) was down there waiting
for him to come in. There were tears coming from some of the
employees. And when Chad saw Holly he started to tear up also.
When they finally got together everyone was applauding even the
customers. Thats were he put the corsage on her. Even our store
manager and assistent manager got involved with it.

Chad said they got to the prom called "Tropical Midnight Magic" at
the Rooster Tail. (Michganders will know this restaraunt). They had
a fine meal, pictures were taken and a lot of dancing. They had a
wonderful time and my Chad is very very happy And as I said before, Holly was absolutly
gorgeous (the pictures don't do her justice).

StarCraftDad, what a wonderful, joyful ending.  I think I'd have cried and applauded, too, if I had been there when "Cinderella and Cinderfella"  went off to the ball

"Only in America!"  :)  :W

But now it looks like you will have to change the name of this thread to:

"I Am So #@%&* HAPPY!!  :W  :J

PS--I've shopped at 12 Oaks in the past.  Next time I am home in Michigan and I go there, I'm going to look up the JC Penney store and BUY something there as a way of thanking them for being so great!!  :S

And, yes, I've been to the Roostertail--what a fantastic place for a prom party!!!

(My gosh--showing my advanced age--and to think we had ours in the high school  "cafetorium"--our committee spent hours and hours and hours decorating and it still looked like  Coral Gables High cafetorium when we were through! :J  )

Great story--great ending.  It should be a movie.

And all because people really like your son, and probably Holly too.

Thread hijack in progress:

I remember my prom very well........yeeeeeeechhhh! held in the gymnasium of the school and decorated to the hilt but it was still the gymnnasium and looked it.  Even with all those silver and blue reflective stars and the crystal ball reflecting light and all that papering and stuff.....still the grim gym.  LOL! :Z  :-()  :sombraro:

What a wonderful thing the JCP employees did for such a darling, deserving pair. I love happy endings!!!!!! :-()  :#  :-()

I'm so glad your son had a good time!  I'm sure girl #1's workplace enviroment will not be pleasent after this!!  Out of all those employee, somebody's bound to rub it in!
