Hard to say if it was where I normally use it, It has been a winter from the last time I used it. I can tell you that it is not glazed

Quote from: wynotIf you're using the same tightness you always have, you need to clean your sway bar, you've glazed over.

Quote from: BaysideBruceThanks for the suggestions. I took the sway bar apart last night and put the wire wheel from the benchgrinder on it. All this time I had been tighten the sway bar the way the dealer showed me... which was wrong. I thought the "lever" is what you used to adjust the sway bar. Actually the lever is just the on/off mechanism and the bolt below it is what makes the adjustments. I tighten the bolt a 1/2 turn and plan on taking the trailer out for a test run this weekend. Thanks for pointing out the right way to make the adjustments to the sway bar. That might have been the problem!
Glad I was able to point out a couple of things for you.  I wouldn't say the dealer had showed you wrong, because the lever does provide a tension point as well as on/off.  But you do reach a point where the pads wear enough that it needs a little help.

My bar literally will glaze silvery-black with the brake dust, and progressively get less effective as the season moves on.  Probably because we have a Utah, it is really susceptable to sway anyhow, it makes me really aware of settings.

Let us know if it makes a difference.  Good luck.

I realize that this is an old post but I FINALLY figured out what my sway problem was.  My wheel bearings were extremely loose.  I had them repacked last year and everything seemed fine.  I just ruled the bearings out since I just had "taken care of that as a problem".  I took the trailer in for the mechanic to look at it since no matter what I did I still had sway.  Cleaning the anti-sway bar helped a lot but the sway was still there.  The bar just tried to keep things together.  The mechanic called me up and said he had never seem such loose bearings before.  He checked them out and repacked them and I should be good now.  Hope that's what the problem has been.  Thanks to all of you who helped me out with all of your suggestions.

That sounds like a very reasonable explanation. Hope it works. Let us know!
