We will also be headed there with goldbender. We will be pulling in late afternoon friday. We reserved non hookup sites, look us up buth in the jayco's.
You can't ask for more than camping for mothers day!

Hey, thats super.  We are in the hookup section but we walk all over the campground every day.  We will be on the lookout for you.  We probably won't pull in till evening.  I will probably drive out during the dayon Friday  to get a site and then go home and come back with DH.

We also invited our neighbors to come along but they tent camp.  Sometimes they let you pitch a tent in the hookup section.  If they don't allow it we may end up in the non-hookup area.

See you soon

We just got back yesterday from a weekend at San Mateo. The weather was beautiful--very warm but with a lovely ocean breeze! We spent Saturday morning at San Clemente SB and Griffin had a wonderful time making sand castles and running in the water. The surf was up and there were terrible rips though, and we saw the lifeguards make at least 4 or 5 rescues during the 2 hours we were there.

There were quite a few tents pitched behind RVs in the hook-up section.  Your neighbors should be okay.  Just checked Reserve America though, and there are only about 7 sites left--all in the  dry camping section of San Mateo. During dinner, Dave and I toyed with the idea of joining you and making it a mini-rally (:D !!!) , but with all that my mom has been through this year, we need to be celebrating her rather than camping. She deserves nothing less.

Jacqui, you might get a kick out of this.  Griffin kept asking about Maffew all weekend while we were camping.  Our latest conversation about Maffew goes something like this:

G: "Why Maffew not tamping?"
Me: "Because he's home with his mommy and daddy and sister and brother.
G: "Why he's home wif his mommy and daddy and brudder and sissuh?"
Me: "Because that's where he is."
G:  "Wif Miss Jacqui?"
Me: "Yes, with Miss Jacqui."
G: "What tamper Maffew have?"
Me: "You know what kind of camper Maffew, uh, I mean Matthew, has.  What kind of camper does he have?"
G: "A weswake"
Me: "That's right, a westlake.  And what kind of camper do you have?"
G: "A sun bowee."
Me: And who makes Matthew's and your campers?"
G: "God."
Me: "Well, uh, in addition to God, what company makes your and Matthew's campers?"
G: "Co-man"
Me: That's right, sweetie, Coleman makes your campers."
G: Why Maffew not tamping wif us?" (And so it starts all over again for the next 12 hours....)

Aaahh, the joys of motherhood. :)  Have a great time this weekend and happy mommy's day!

would like to go..oooooh I wanna go tamping too!!

Sat the 8th is my Dad's B-day, and I will be fulfilling some of the traditions my mom did for him. My sister DH and kids are going to spend the day so he's not alone on his B-day. so I guess I'll have to wait to June.

That is sooo cute.  Matthew is so into the popup too.  We have to drive by it every day because he wants to make sure it is still sleeping. in its spot.

Don't think that "Missa Mooos and Miss Powa" didn't come up in the conversation as well. Pretty much the same gist, but substitute your names for Maffew's and "Jaytoe" for "Co-man" and add "Missa Mooos so funny...wike da mad hatter" and "dey gib me a widdo pop up!" :)

I want to go Tamping too

but it's Dads b-day on Sat. and I don't want him to spend it alone. Have a couple of Mom's traditions to uphold

Hi George, we would love to meet up with you too.  I love meeting new families that have Popuptimes/SC Campers in common.  Maybe the Trick or treat in Temecula rally will be the one.  Have fun camping at San Elijo.  We have never been there.  San Mateo is a very nice CG.  Unfortunately, it is next to impossible to get into over the summer as is most of the Southern California state parks:(

Hi again George!

Our maiden voyage in our PU was to San Elijo. Theproximity to the beach is wonderful, but the sites are pretty small and close together. I seem to remember that it was all we could do to get the awning up in the space that we had, but then again, we weren't as good at backing in then as we are now, and we may not have positioned the PU well within the site.

We hope to be able to meet you on a trip real soon. Your daughter is probably about the same age as my little monkey, and he loves making new camping friends. There is still space (though not much!) at the Pismo Beach Rally, June 24-28. E-mail 6Quigs if you think that you'd like to go. And if you ever want to suggest a trip yourself, feel free. It's not uncommon for a mini-rally to come together on very short notice!

Have a great time camping (you too Jacqui!) We'll be thinking of you all and wishing we were there!!!:)

We are back from a wonderful weekend.  I got a few hours to myself while Randy took the kids to the beach.  What a treat.  Someone had to stay back with the dog:# .  (ya know a mommy's gotta do what a mommy's gotta do;) )  The weather was beautiful..  We haven't been to San Mateo in a really long time.

We also caught up with some PUT members.  Goldbender and his brothers family Gardenmomof2.  We sat and chatted for a while and had a nice time getting to know them.
