UPDATE 5/27/04: DEE4J HAS PLANNED AND RESERVED SITES FOR THIS RALLY.  PLEASE SEE HER POST BELOW FOR DETAILS!  :D

Quote from: Dee4jwell I did it . I took the plunge and made reservations

For arrive Fri. leave Sun Nov. 12th-14th. Thurs the 11th is Veterns day and see below about adding extra nites.

The cost is a little higher than what Lori had posted. it will be $31/night for a total of $68.50 for Fri & Sat. this is full hook-up. including cable hook up (OOOOOOOH) not just W/E

I chose these sites to make sure we have left side hook-ups. Campland's sites have most the hookups in the center of 2 sites (kinda like parking in your driveway) so one is left & one is right. I know the hookups could be run underneath or you push the PU in front first, but I thought why hassle that.

WE MUST HAVE 10 families to get this rate otherwise its $80/night
I only booked for Fri & Sat. For those who want to add additional nites can do so by paying on their own, just tell them you're with the SCCampers and your site number and they will give you the group rate (sun-Thurs cheaper rate)

The sites are:
H1
H2
H3
H4-Griffsmom
H5-DEE4J
H7-Sue Hardee
H10
H12
H14
H16

H6 is blacked out Permanently (?) blacked out by the owner for personal use so it may be empty. H7 is next to the ultra expensive supersite which in completely enclosed by a wood fence. We can add more spaces as needed.

They do heat the pool in the winter and the jacuzzi too. We have always had a good time here and there's lots to do there & in San Diego itself.

I have planned it...Now please come :tent:

Here is Campland's Web site: http://www.campland.com/ They have shuttles ($1.00/person, o/w) that will take you to the area attractions (Sea World, Old Town, Kobe's swap meet, and Belmont Park). They also offer many activities for families within the cg itself.

So, anyone up for a Campland trip in November? :)

OC Campers

No, we have never been to Campland.  I made reservations there last year but we were unable to make it.  I have heard nothing but good things about it.  Lots of activities for the kids but the sites are small.

We would be up for it.  The kids are playing soccer in the fall so I am not sure when the season end is.  Usually it is the week before Thanksgiving.   I guess we will just wait to see what weekend they want to go.

I have camped here several times. Its a nice place overall with activities planned all day long everyday. the sites are VERY close and some don't allow enough room for a PU and a TV. I would be interested, I would even
:yikes:  :yikes: wagonmaster this one or at least give advice on campsites. They do allow reservations 1 yr in advance and is a popular place so decisions s/b made soon

My suggestion is Nov. 12-14, my kids have off Thurs the 11th for Veterans Day so we would probably go Wed nite or Thurs. and with parent conferences that week their school load will be light and can miss friday.  this is 4 days of camping :-()

well there's my .02

I say....If you plan it ....they will camp :#  :!

Unfortunately, I wasn't tamping this weekend, just dreaming of it.  Saturday, I was talking to families about embryo adoption at an informational seminar on adoption that my agency offers every couple of months. Sunday, we were doing the mom's day thing.  It had a special quality to it this year, given what my mom has been through the past few months.  I was thinking about you Dee, and hoping that the day was full of wonderful memories of your mom, both for you and your dad.  I was also thinking about you too, Tracy & David, and hoping that your mom's recovery is going well.

Dee4j

Thank you for the thoughts. I'm still at a place I try not to think about her too much. we did give her some beautiful flowers and Kevin & Kara gave her a balloon.

So..... Do you think we should try a plan a rally???

Dee4j

I think I will put this on my things to do list for this week and see whats available.

Let me know what you find out, Dee.  The gal that e-mailed me about this possibility and was the impetus for me starting this thread would probably be interested in going.  She and her husband have two kids, 4 and 2, and would fit in well with this group.

Thanks for checking into this Dee!  I love a gal who can take charge of a rally!  :D

I guess this means it's an "official" rally.  Does it need to be posted differently??

if so, could one of you website guru's do that?

Randy If you have time can you add this to the SCCampers site...Thanks

OC Campers

Deidre this sounds like a lot of fun.  I need to wait to let you know though.  This is usually the last weekend for soccer.  I would usually say oh-well but I already have 2 other camping trips planned during soccer season.

Thanks for stepping up to the plate at taking this on.

Yes, it is an official rally, and you my dear are the official wagonmistress!  Well done!!

I will e-mail Deena who was the one who asked me about it in the first place.  I'm sure that she and her husband will be up for it.  How do you want to handle payment of site fees?

Yes, Scott or someone should add this to the SCCampers site, but it's not long enough of a rally to warrant a thread in the rally forum.  PUT likes to save those for rallies 4+ days long.  You may want to e-mail Scott directly so that he is sure to see that this needs to be added to the club Web site. Or I suppose you could put your request in the middle of the next math equation in the Pismo count down thread (:p )

I'll talk to Dave to make sure we're in on this one.  I'm pretty sure we are.  I'll also let you know which site we'd like.   I'm thinking possibly H4 or maybe H10.  Anything you can remember about those sites (think hard-to-contain 3 y/o....)?

Way to take that bull by the horns and ride it girl!  Thanks for stepping up and organizing this!:-() :# :!

Dee4j

Lori: I would recommend H4: it's one of the widest and also it has a short (3'or4') chain link fence behind it.  H10-the back is off  a "Main Road" and I'm not sure how close it is.  as far as fees I will be posting that soon. Kim @ campland is sending a contract with all the info. I do know  I have to put a deposit down now and pay in full 30 days prior

I will be going on Thursday for sure I may even go WED nite.
