I am going to buy a leveler for my pu.  In the event that the dealer quits jacking me around and fixes it I will be able to use the weekend of the 15th.  Now my question is which leveler do I get?  Is it the one that goes around the wheel or the one that looks like a car jack?  Which one and where do I get it?  Thanks!!

I have the BAL leveler and I am very happy with it.  I purchased it from Camping World early last year. :)

Definitely BAL leveler ! Do not buy anything else :)  You will thank me for this advise one day :)

I know those who have the BAL leveler absolutely love it and swear by it, but we are happy just using the orange Lynx levelers.  They work very well and are easy to use.  Dave sells them in the PUT store, along with a lynx stop-n-chock.

This will be my third season with the PU.  For the first two we always used blocks of wood to level with.  On my last trip out last year DS had a hard time helping to get level, so I bought a BAL leveler.  Haven't used it yet, but I suspect it will be a whole lot easier for me to get the trailer level this year!

Used the Lynx and used the BAL.  Get the BAL.

We use the Lynx and won't replace them for the BAL.  But if I had NEITHER, I would get the BAL. I can't believe that they are closely priced.

Thanks everyone,
looks like I'm buying the BAL :)

Gone-Camping

I looked but didn't see them at the PUT store, they do have them at Campingworld, JC Penny, and PUX (PUX looks like it's the lowest cost...

One of my big disapointments after buying the BAL leveler came on the first trip after buying it. The @#$% ("!@$%") camp site was LEVEL! I couldn't believe it. Ah, used the BAL anyway and found the other benifits of this device..... it serves as a wheel chock and brace. Noticed less movement inside the camper with the BAL and it certainly won't roll anywhere.

I have managed to find some un-level campsites since then and the BAL works great!

Gone-Camping

Hey Skip, I know exactly where you're coming from. I bought one before last years camping season. Then I went camping twice before selling the PU, both times I had a level site and never did get to use the darn thing. I wound up selling it to someone here from the board....completely un-used since it wouldn't work on my dual axle Hybrid.

We just had a small adventure here, because of this thread. Some of you may remember that a while ago I posted a thread saying that I had purchased a BAL leveler for my DH, as a Father's Day gift. I had also said that he would get it earlier than Father's Day, probably around Memorial Day when we went on our camping trip. This evening I was reading this thread, and started to respond to it, saying that I was eager to see how much hassle this would save my poor DH once he got his surprise BAL. (and I wouldn't have to see the air turn blue because of his language while leveling the camper) I was so engrossed in what I was doing that I was pretty oblivious when DH walked into the room and stood behind me. Suddenly it dawned on me that he could read what i was typing over my shoulder and I quickly hit the back button, but not before he saw a few words. So, he knew that I was trying to hide something from him. I really tried to play innocent, but for some reason it totally failed, (???) and he then got the impression that I was lying to him, and "up to something!" So, I had to go and haul the BAL out of the back of my van where it's been riding around for a while now, and give it to him. He hadn't ever seen a BAL, so didn't know what it was, and was already suspicious of something (altho he admitted he didn't know what). I had to finally get back on the 'puter and print out a pic from someone's webshots of a BAL in use. All of a sudden he was out in the driveway, cranking that thing up! "Oh yeah, this is great! This will work so good! Oh boy, Oh boy!!" He is sooo happy now, and when I started to laugh at him about how he was so upset about "secrets" he looked all hurt, "What?? NO, not me! I knew you weren't up to anything all along!" Yeah, right!  LOL, he should know better by now, Heheheheh.

B-flat

Yeah, I know the feeling.  New Mr. B-flat was looking over my shoulder when I was madly typing away the other day and says, who's this Birol and wiininkwe, NightOwl, angelsmom, Gone-Camping, campingboaters and so on?  I said some camping folks I know.  He says where did you meet them.  I said it was right here on PUT.  OH, he says, people you met on the internet? :yikes:  :)  :D  ;)  I had to explain that PUT is like family and that you get to know a lot of really nice camping folks from all over the place. :D

Levelers: Started off with a homemade ramp made out of 2 2x6's with angles cut in the front edge screwed together with a space for the wheel at 1 1/2" and a space at 3". Worked well until one day when driving OFF the ramp the back end kicked up and got caught in the tube that the lifter cable goes through!!
Got the Lnynx levelers next. Work well EXCPET you back in to the spot, eyeball what side you need to raise and by how much, pull forward, place the Lynx Levelers and back up on it! If you guessed right- GREAT, if not- guess again!
I now have a BAL Leveler. Back into the site, where I want. Park it, and level it perfectly.
I really like the BAL Leveler the best!
