Leaks!

My BIL has a moisture problem in the Spring when he first opens the camper. The privacy curtains, etc are all wet in the front center of the camper near the front bunk. He has a 1999 Jayco Quest 10 as is mine. These have a center roof seam and aluminum roof. It does not leak when popped up!
MY theory is that when it's popped up, the weight, bearing on the four lifters, closes a leak that has occured in the center seam. When closed and latched, the roof is pulled or stressed in a different angle and the seam opens up.
My question is: Is that a likely senario or am I dreaming???
Thanks!

Easy enough to check, get out the hose an soak the roof and then open the trailer and look for water marks on the ceiling.

More likely is he's got a condensation problem. It's not uncommon to open trailers up in the spring and find the whole inside damp. That's why I've always recommended sealing up the crack, gaps, and holes on the underside of the camper and leaving either a calcium cloride product like Damp Rid or Silica Desiccant in the trailer during storage.

If it is a leak, re-caulking the center seam is the way to take care of it.  Have him soak the PU withe a hose when the PU is closed.  If the seam has never been re-caulked it is due. :)
