I posted this over at our ScCampers forum and OCCampers suggested I post over here too:

We had a fun camping experience this past weekend. We were camping at Newport Dunes (Southern California) for Mother's Day Weekend and it was also the //www.vintage-vacations.com annual spring rally. There were approximately 100 campers with pre-1970 trailers (plus a few RV's, but no pop-ups). On Saturday it was open house and we got to see all of the very cool trailers. There were a lot of Air Streams (as old as 1938), Tear Drops, Shastas, etc. People also had older vehicles like Woodys, pick up trucks, and station wagons. Some trailers have been completely restored and decorated while others were originals. A lot of people had all the old accessories too like Scotch Coolers, old surfboards, dining room sets, old canopies, picnic sets, etc. A lot of nostalgia and great fun. It was interesting that quite a few people were multi trailer owners and vintage trailers are more than just a hobby. I noticed that they had rally signs like we do at PUT rallys. Some people had come from Nevada, Texas and beyond. Like all campers, the people were very friendly. Touring the trailers took most of the afternoon...an unexpected bonus to our get away weekend.

It sounds like it was really fun.  I had never heard of a vintage rally. :)
