A boy, 1.5 years old .... From CRT. We will have to go to Buffalo to get it :) I think we are going to be approved today, talking (e-mail to be honest) with the foster mom right now. he is an abused dog, and needs little bit of obedience training.

My aunt has had several Chihuahua and her's always yapped; I think that just a pre-requisit for tiny dogs... mine does also.  DH can't seem to understand, the girls fiance's walk in the door and my dog leaves them alone... DH comes in and the whole neighborhood knows, he just barks and barks and barks!  Good luck!

We  have a Chihuahua (Killer) also, plus a Rott/Pitt (Buddy).  The Chihuahua's name is Killer because the first day we brought her home she started going for Buddy's jugular.  My stepson saw this and said we should call her Killer and the name stuck because she is real nasty, in a playful way, to Buddy.  The cats and the dogs have all been trained with a squirt bottle set on stream so that when they do something they are not supposed to do (like bark or try to claw he couch) they get squirted.   However, this didn't work camping because they are chained and are usually at the full extention of the chain, a squirt bottle doesn't reach her.  So, I got a super soaker.  All I have to do is pump that thing up and she sees me and stops barking.  You just have to discipline them the moment they start barking.   We never have had to do that with Buddy because he is such a nice mellow dog, a very good camping dog.  Killer is good most of the time, we just have to keep reminding her not to bark, so then she kind of grumbles under her breath.  It's cute.  She is kind of still under training because Buddy is 6 years old and Killer just turned 3 on St. Patties Day.  We always take them camping with us and they really love to go also.

Your little one will be a great joy for you, you and the kids will have fun with him.

Another side to the barking dog story:  When my Taffi was a young pup, she wouldn't bark, so we tried making barking noises when someone came on our property or came to the door.  You guessed it, from then on she learned to bark and wouldn't shut up when someone was around or coming to the door. :eyecrazy:
