Hey we are going down there for 4th july with friends anyone know of anything going on there then?

Not off hand, what campground you going to? I've only been to Occoneechee State Park out there (twice), nice place but always interested in something different. I'm curious how the COE campgrounds around the lake are, if they are anything like Goose Point out at Philpotts Lake I'd certainly like to check them out!
