Well, after seven working days at the RV Dealer, I decided that I really don't like the people that I'm working for, it's a very disturbing work enviroment and have decided to return to the old job. Of course the old job is offering me more money to come back to them than they were paying me, and is now only $1 per hour less than the RV Warranty job. Considering they are 3.4 miles from home where the RV place is 28 miles, well, at $2 per gallon you do the math...I'll be better off going back to the Ford Heavy Truck Dealer!!! I haven't told the RV people yet, but probably will NOT give them notice. I will offer to continue to work their warranties on a Saturday only situation if they agree to a couple changes in the "operating enviroment" but guess we'll see what happens when I talk to them on Friday about all this.

The math does the trick for me, since the Ford place gives me an automatic 3 hours per week overtime where the RV dealer is extremely strickt about NO overtime, and the pay only $40 per week difference based on straight time. With the overtime from Ford, I'll actually make $8 per week more. And instead of the 45 minute congested traffic commute each way, I've got a 4-5 minute drive to work!

Oh well, I tried!

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.  I don't ever blame anyone for leaving a job where there is tension and discord.  You have to feel comfortable where you work in order to be happy.  Just be glad it didn't take 6 months or something for you to come to this realization.  And "PHEW" to the fact that the old job is there to fall back on!

Good Luck!

You got that right. They were actually holding the old job open for a few weeks to see if I'd come back. But they were getting ready to advertise the position. I really like being around the RV's and going through them, even found another unit that really loved the floor plan! But this guy isn't easy to work for, I'm not happy with it, and figure if I'm not happy there, then there is no reason to keep going in there everyday! I was relatively happy at the Ford place, just needed more money, which they are now offering me anyway! So guess it all worked out! :eyecrazy:

I can understand about the traveling... the company I work for used to be a few miles from my house and then the owner sold part of the business and wanted me to stay with him, but he moved to a 23mile (ONE WAY) drive.  He did compensate me 50cents/hr; be the only person in the office.  I decided to take it as it is all highway and I felt I had job security (the part that sold, closed it's doors in the middle of the day without any warning about a year later; and filed bankrupcy).

Glad things are working out for you with your old job.
