Quote from: griffsmomWill that be with salsa or marinara sauce? :D
It could be either, but it will most likely be cocktail sauce!!! ;) I think Scott and I might do Italian on Friday night at a local restaurant, so if we are voting on the potluck theme then I'll say Mexican!  Besides, my Marga-G-tas would fit right in with that theme. :D

Mexican it is! :sombraro:

We'll bring Paul's famous salsa and chips!

Dee4j

I'll make 7 layer dip & chips for mid-day snack. I'll make Carne Asada with grilled onions, bell peppers and some chicken in red sauce. Gee maybe I'll have to buy some Corona's  :!

some yummy suggestions: refried beans, rice, Mexican Lasagna, Taco Salad, quesadillas,

I know some prefer flour totillas over corn or not at all so to make it easy, each family could bring their own tortillas & cheese.

that's my 2 cents worth anyone want to bring it up to 4 cents?

BTW just an FYI my confirmation came and I guess I'm in B46 not B48
sorry Jeanne you'll have to roll a little farther ;)

Okay, I'm looking for a miracle here, or at least some more inconveniences that will go my way for a change.  Paul is home because of Hurricane Frances.  He was scheduled to go back tomorrow (Tuesday) for one week to finish up the work.  Now he's been told his return is postponed a week because of the lack of electricity and the damage to the area he was working in, which means he'll be gone the 13th to the 20th!  But with Hurricane Ivan in the wings, that could be postponed again.  So we're rooting for Ivan (sorry Florida) to keep on coming and keep him home so we can go to Casitas.  If he has to go back the 13th, we'll have to cancel, and I was really looking forward to going.  I'm getting cabin fever.

Oh, did I mention all his clothes and work boots are still in FL, and now he doesn't have any decent pants to wear to work?  This should be interesting if the trip is postponed again.

6 days left  I can't wait I haven't been "tamping" since Pismo!!!

Yes--just around the corner.  I'm going to drop G at work, run up and setup the camper, pick G up from work and come back up.  It's nice to be camping so close to home. :)

Close campouts are nice...hoping to be up there around noonish. no sense leaving here before 9-9:30 just to get stuck in LA traffic. I work Thurs nite so leaving BEFORE rush hour is going happen....okay even if I didn't work Thurs nite it wasn't going to happen...

The good news is Paul will be home and we can go to Casitas.  The bad news is, David is in high school now and pulling him out of school early can be problematic since he'll miss two major classes, biology and algebra, not to mention water polo practice.  So we'll be up there later in the evening.  We usually try to leave by 1:00 PM, but this time we can't leave until prime time traffic, which means we may not leave until 7:00 to try to miss it and just eat before we go.  So we'll need everyone directing their flashlights our way as we back in!

See you then!  I'm so excited!

Dee4j

YEAH!!!! you're going camping, you're going camping  :-()

we'll be waiting for you just head into the light (the biggest campfire that is)

maybe Scott knows but I thought I read in my confirm letter (which I can't find right now) that the gates close at 10pm ??? but don't quote me on that.

I'm finding the older Kevin gets the harder it is to pull him out of school. I gave his teachers a list of fridays he'll be missing and told them he's getting a hands on experience of the various ecosystems of Califonia :eyecrazy:

Thanks for the reminder.  Yes, it says 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  We'll have to keep that in mind.
