I just dont want any of you to think I am willingly neglecting this board and all my wonderful  BB friends   because I havent been here lately.  Truth is, due to circumstances beyond my control  I've been working day and night getting things taken care of at home    :banghead:  because on Saturday I am leaving Georgia for six weeks.  :W

I will be camping a  bit in the middle of my trip but it will be in a    :tent: !  (Shhhhh, Dont tell anyone who has a popup--I dont want to be suspected of disloyalty  :yikes:.)

Day after tomorrow, the Aerostar and  I leave here for Ann Arbor to see my kids a few hours and pick up baby sister (Zigi)  Tues. morning, she and I and the van leave for a big 3 day party  :-()  :-()  ( family wedding)  in Denver the weekend of JUne 20, Then back to Michigan and my :tent: camping experiment.  Then  July 13, fly to Maine (various places) for two weeks.  Then fly back to Ann Arbor and then around August 1, drive back home.   I havent calculated the miles covered yet, but I'm glad that for part of the trip at least, someone else will be doing the "driving." :D

I hope to check in every now and then but meantime, have a wonderul summer and HAPPY CAMPING, EVERYONE!  :S  :W

NightOwl, Have a safe and wonderful trip.  Wave to us from Ann Arbor.  I'm just a short hop from there in Walled Lake.  Please be careful on the e-ways and take your time and rest up when you feel fatigued.  See you soon with a wonderful report.

Have a wonderful and safe trip!

My cousin and her family are embarking on a 4 week cross country trip on Saturday as well.  I am SO jealous!  Some day, when my kids are a bit older, we'll make it a priority to give them the memories I still have from my childhood trips across the country EVERY August!

Wow :#  Do you have room in your suitcase? Have a great time  :W

thanks for the kind wishes everyone.  And of course, you know that if and when there is a chance to get online, I will be checking back here to read of the adventures the rest of you are having.

Now, about MY TENT...:J   I decided that since I was going to camp without Billy this time, that I would travel light and really  get back to old-fashioned camping.

The tent is really a cool thing--a new type for me--and I am anxious to experiment with it.  It is 10 x 10.  You can find it by going to the following  link:

I havent tent camped in over 30 years--I was young and adventuresome then--and am spoiled by the luxuries of  popup camping so many years now, so this will be something quite "new."   I'll let you know how it works out.

I'm also taking the little 6 x 6 Playhut screenroom SuzieQ found for several of us a couple years ago.  It's  turned out to be a great little bugfree eating and hanging out spot and  will be quick and easy for me to pack up when I move.
camp (if I can remember how to coil the darned gadget back up--remember how Sandy Kayak had to send me pictures of how they got theirs folded back up into
its carrying case  the first  time I got involved in "hand to hand combat" with the thing? :D  )

Hey, very cool!   Kinda like a pop-out instead of a pop-up! I like the thought that in a scary or dangerous moment you could jump into the vehicle and slam the door shut!  (not that I expect you'll have any scary or dangerous moments)
