Our TT has two 30# LP tanks on it. We've been using, I thought, the one on the right to run the furnace and stove since the beginning of the season. Two weeks ago, I lifted the cover to turn the tanks off and realized there was condensation on the left tank about 7 inches up from the bottom. I checked the sheets for the regulator and found that it automatically switches from an empty tank to a full one. So, I was almost out of propane!

Last week I found a local place to fill the tank. Put it back on the trailer & forgot about it. This weekend, I turned it on instead of the almost empty one and realized that there is a teeny weenie, itsy bitsy leak coming out of the Acme nut connection. Thinking it was the hose, I swapped it with the left tank. Same problem, so there's a problem in the area that tapers down to seal the hose with the Acme nut to the tank. This means I have a defective & fully loaded 30# LP tank which I can't throw away because it's a bomb.

I called the place that filled it, but he only fills them & said I needed a repair person. After much looking on the internet, I found the following link which will enable you to locate a place in your area which actually can fix a LP problem.

Hope it helps someone out.

I had the same problem with a faulty valve on a half empty tank that was almost new....I refilled about a dozen 1 lb tanks for  my Mr Heater and small grill, using a special fitting that is made for this purpose....I then took it to a dealer and they installed a new valve and refilled the tank... end of problem....Dealer also said that they could have removed remaining gas and given me credit for it.....Any dealer that services LP tanks should be able to do this.......
