One of the corners had a long tear which normally goers under the bunk. I had sown it nicely and was glueing its long wide patch. After applying the contact cement (canvas was under slight pressure to keep it straight so I could cleanly apply the cement) a few minutes and a 2" section of sewn area (T shaped) just let go canvas,thread and all

I am so upset with myself ! Obviously the canvas was pulled from there a lot and is very thin and ready to go completely ! I hope this canvas lasts us a year or two (yeah now two before we can afford a new one). I applied another patch under the real patch on side and repatched the long patch. It looks ok, but will it last ? no idea !!!! With fear that the other corner might do the same, I doubled patched that corner as well while at it ! Used half a can of contact cement ! But it is all done now with patching at last !

Keep your chin up.  I know it's a lot of work and unfortunately you have not used the camper to actually go camping.  During your first camping trip, ALL of this work will seem trivial.  In a few years, you will think "Remember when..." and just LAUGH!

When you have to repeat a job like that, it can be really frustrating.   Sorry to hear that this is giving you fits, but not to worry, it will be all fixed soon, and you'll be so proud of yourself for sticking (get it, "sticking", contact cement, etc ?) with it that all the hard work will seem like a game.  I am so impressed with all you have accomplished in the last little while, and I know that all of us here at PUT are happy to see you succeed.   Your first camping trip isn't too far away, just be patient, it will be worth it.

Looks like the new patch is holding nicely ... it almost is at its drying point (2 hours or so) .

The only thing left is the propane connection and I should be able to take care of that sometime next week. With Friday approaching fast, I don't think I will be able to do much on it anymore this week. We will probably buy the fabric tomorrow and see if my wife will sew them for the cushions ......

Closed the canvas at the windows and waiting for the rain to test the canvas ! We have patched it up completely and water sealed some leaking areas ..... A test is needed !
