Our next trip will be to Sebago Lake, Maine with a stop-over in Concord, NH on the way to meet up with family.  We won't be camping so the drive should be a bit easier than when towing.  I've been eyeing up my atlas to see which route to take to NH.  I would like to avoid I-95 altogether (if possible and if/when it makes sense) as I know that road is HORRIBLE in NY and Connecticut with construction, pot-holes and TONS of traffic. :yikes: I cursed that road MANY an hour while sitting stuck in traffic on my way to Boston and THAT was YEARS ago.  I imagine it's only gotten worse now.  :eyecrazy:

So far, below is my planned route unless I hear otherwise.  If you know any of the areas I'm going through and can tell me if there is a better way or if the way I'm going is horrible, I'd REALLY appreciate your help.

  • Start just north of Philadelphia
  • PA-202 North
  • I-287 North (NJ)
  • I-87 South/East (NY) to Tappan Zee Bridge
  • I-684 North/East (NY) to I-84 or should I take 15 East/North in CT to Hartford?
  • I-84 East/North (CT)
  • I-90 East (MA)
  • I-495 North (MA)
  • 3 North in MA to 3/I-93 North (NH) or just get on I-93 in MA
  • end in Concord, NH
We leave on Friday at noon, so hurry!  :D  Thanks!

Consider taking 287 (NJ) to 87 North (NY Thruway) to I-84 East near Newburgh, NY, to Masspike East to I495.
Afew more miles perhaps, but much less traffic, especially avoiding the Tap!
We travel back and forth to NJ quite often and find that a few more miles with less traffic is really much quicker and nicer!
Safe Travel!
