Obviously it is prohibited to keep any PUP UP's in the driveway in where we live :( Finally has been up and being fixed since we brought it, and someone complained ! The guy was polite and looked understanding when I told him that I was working on it, but nevertheless it has to go into the garage ! If I catch the ..... who complained I will have a couple of words with him. So many people have their PU's in their driveways or open right now. I confess Finally has been there for a very long time now.

We will get a letter on Friday with a deadline to remove it. I told the guy that we are going on a camping trip after 1.5 weeks anyways, he said you will see the deadline on the letter, I hate it ! Now I will go around and complain about everyones Tent Trailers !

It takes  a real pathetic person to complain about such a thing when the whole town is full of Pu's ......

What's the law for one is the law for all..... do you know if he stopped at the other houses?

The letter should have a phone number on it... I'd call it and definitely complain about all the others... if you have to have yours put away so does everyone else.

I am going to do that right now ! Until they stop enforcing it or start hiring new people !

He nonly came to us he said as there was a compalint against us only. it is a by-law that they do not enforce if there are noit any compalints. I went out and counted 15 PU's and two boats ! This is ridicilious !

Seems to me if you place it in the garage every night and dig it out only when working on it, there wouldn't be much they could do about it. I do understand that is a pain in the butt and hard to 'water test' it like that. But considering you've got most of it down now anyway. When the date rolls around, get it in the garage, they'll come and check on it then, and a week or two later, bring it right back out. Eventually the complainer will get tired of complaining...who knows, by then you'll figure it out.

I used to park my tow truck in front of the house, but one of my neibors complained each time, and each time the police would come by and tell me it had to be moved by a certain time. It turned out to be the people across the street who had difficulty backing out of their driveway with the tow truck on my side of the road (narrow street). They had the right to do so, and nothing I could do about it.

I suppose I could call and complain about them parking their car facing the wrong way or something, but just can't bring myself to do that. I just can't lower myself to becoming just like them.

Well, the guy was very nice, he said that he will get around to sending a letter on Friday, it should reach me Monday or Tuesday. I told him that by that Sunday we would be gone, I guess (am hoping) that he will give us till Monday and by then we will be gone anyways. When we are back it will have to go in, which was our plan anyways. When it is outside we can not park one of the cars in the driveway and I hate that !

Ours can't be in our parking area at all...we have to do everything from the storage lot where we keep it.   :(  One of these days I want to move to an area that doesn't have such restrictions...but you have to go so far away around here to get that!

We are not allowed to park it in the driveway for more than about 24 hours.  People generally don't complain unless it is there for more than 3 or 4 days.  But there is no way we could get by with leaving it out for a week.

We have ours in the backyard behind the fence.  It is down right now, but we hope (depending on the weather) to put it up this weekend and give it a good go-over.  We can leave it behind the fence without any problems.

You know, about the people complaining about the tow truck, it seems like they could have come to you and asked you to park it so that they could get out easier.  It kills me that people won't talk to a neighbor about a problem.  They would rather hide behind someone else.  Seems sad to me.

We were concerned when we knew we would be upgrading from a popup to a Hybrid, so before we even bought the hybrid, we spoke with all our neighbours, asking them if it would be a problem having a TT there instead of the popup.
That gave them all a chance to say how they felt about the popup, and when the hybrid arrived, there were no surprises, nobody was jealous of our new aquisition, and they all came over to peek inside, and wish us luck with our new camping toy!!

And heaven knows they couldn't simply walk across the street and say, "Hey, Cliff, I have a hard time backing out of my driveway with your tow truck there.  Could you maybe pull up a foot to make it easier?"  That would be way too neighborly and way too easy.

i've got a double whammy-county prohibits parking a peice of major recreation appliances 9which includes a tt) on the street. the develpoment prohibits trailers in the parking lot, even though we own the spaces. however, it appears we have selective enforcement, nothing happens unless someone complains. got a ticket frpm the county one month after buying it for parking on the street-seems a neighbor of mine thought it blocked his view. he and i had polite words, i moved it, but he still turned  me in. right now, the trailer is in my parking space, and no one seems to mind. means i'm parking the tv on the streen blocking someone's view...

Worst part about it was, the first time he broke down and was looking for a free tow, who do you think he came to? I told him I couldn't because some idiot kept calling the police on me when I parked it at home, so I didn't bring the truck home anymore. That's when I found out HE was the idiot... :D

LOL..oh Cliff..that is too funny!!  :D

There is no way in heck I could ever live in a place that told me what I can and can not park on MY PROPERTY!! No an apartment, I can see.. But when some HOA tells me I can not park a car or truck or camper in MY driveway that would be the end of it... Stupid laws IMHO! No thank you, You could never get me to buy a property like that!!  :swear:
