I have had a couple of other experiences with this game -
 Called it Buzz when we played it in my younger days as a drinking game.  The person who screwed up had to take a drink or a "whatever" - obviously the more mistakes you made, well.... the more mistakes you made.  Many, many laughs.
I also called it Focus, a few years later, and played it with my students at a female juvenile delinquent facility.  These were 14-16 year-old kids with 4th and 5th grade Math levels, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, etc. - it was a great way to get them to work on concentration skills and their math facts without it seeming like work to them.
 I had many quiet chuckles to myself at the irony of the use of Buzz and Focus!!!
 At any rate, now that I have purchased my first camper, and no longer drink, I thank you for the idea and reminder of a fun game to play - I will try it with my kids.  I am quite intrigued with the idea of playing on line - good for you.
 

Zoom is a fun campfire game. Everyone can play. It can be a competitive game or a cooperative game. And it's a hoot. On the NNC thread, we've been playing on-line for over a month; I think it's time to bring it to the CAMPFIRE.
 
Rules of "On-Line Zoom".
 
Just a primer on rules of ZOOM for anyone who wants to join us.
 
Each person who posts must enter the next consecutive number 1, 2, 3, etc.
You say, ZOOM, for:
Any number that contains a 7, ie, 7,17,27
Any multiple of 7: ie 7, 14, 21, 28
Any double number: ie 11, 22, 33
Making a mistake stops the count and we resume at ONE: For On-line, this means simulposts: 2 people saying the name number at the same time requires a RESUME AT ONE--NO EDITS TO CHANGE A NUMBER
Rule deferred for on-line version: Saying two zooms in a row reverses direction.
Rules added for on-line version:
Every post must contain the next number...no "comment only posts"
