My husband , MIL and I are planning a trip Sept 30-Oct4 to New England area.    We are flying into Providence, RI.  (A really cheap fare from Nashville!).  Do any of you folks up that way have  suggestions for "must see" things to visit.  We know that we want to see the Maine coast, and also the White Mountains in New Hampshire.  Outside of that, we are flexible.  We will have 3 1/2 days to sightsee.  I am thinking of making a base at a Hampton Inn in the Concord area, and then taking day trips to the places that we want to see.  Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tricia Hicks

That is one HUGE area to see in just 3.5 days -- and LOTS of driving, but I wouldn't miss North Conway and Mount Washington -- if it's not snowing by then.  I would also suggest the Bar Harbor Area of Maine if you can.  Boston is a wonderful town with so much to do, 3.5 days would be spent in town alone, but I really liked the New England Aquarium in Boston.  I think it's better than the National Aquarium in Baltimore.   The fall foliage colors should be beautiful around that time in the mountains of New Hampshire.

SO much to do/see, SO little time!

Wow...sounds like a beautiful trip.  Good thing you're flying there because to see all that you're going to be driving for the next three days!  LOL  Thats a lot of territory to cover in three and a half days!  Take lots of pictures! It should be really beautiful.
