Quote from: anglesmomYou may want to check out yahoo groups and check for freecycle sites. We have one locally and people post requests and free items and seems to be going great (kinda like craiglist).

Here's info on freecycle and to search for one locally or how to start a group

Nancy... thanks so much for this site!  I love it!  I belong to the jaxfreecycle group here in Fl and I am having a blast with this!

In adddition to rehoming stuff that we don't use anymore, I have picked up a few things too!  I have gotten fish for the aquarium, a stereo cabinet for the screened in porch and several crape myrtle trees... a couple of them are so big, that I would have payed over $300 each if I had bought them in the nursery!

You can find anything and everyhting at the freecycle message boards!  Not only do people post their give away items, but you can post "wanted" messages too!  And everything that is given is FREE!  Someone even posted a "wanted" for a car.  Single mom, with little money needed transportaion.  A couple people bashed her (shame on them)for posting a wanted for a free car, but in the end, at least 2 people offerred her free vehicles!!

Yes, I have belonged to our local chapters for about a month now. I have never gotten anything or put anything on it yet. Lots of interesting stuff on it though. Just this morning someone was giving away a year old piano in excellent condition. If only I had the room.:yikes:  They do tend to have a lot of camping stuff come across but most of it I have.  Although someone had a complete set of cast iron pans, dutch oven and coffee pot...never used and in the original boxes.  I didn't get to that one in time.

Yes, I have been a member of two local ones for about a month. Some interesting things. I posted a "Wanted," but I haven't given anything away yet.

I just joined also.  We are getting ready to re-do the kitchen, so I will probably have a cooktop and wall oven to give away soon.

Hardly anything in Oklahoma.  Guess people are too greedy here.  :(

OOOOOH!  You are Bad!  One of the first rules... you must post an offer before you post a wanted!  Tehehe!  But I won't tell!
