I'm up for anytime...I don't work Wed nite so early am is fine :morning:  but here's the deal. LA TRAFFIC  :banghead:  :swear:  so either we need to leave here by like 6 am or wait until 10am..I go the 57 N to 210 to the 5N it's a little longer miles wise but can be much faster the the 5N. I can make to Tragic mountain in about 1 to 1 1/2 hour...so I'm leaving the time decision to you and Lori..I'll just be there. I may even get a wild hair and stay at that place in Valencia Wed nite...where are we meeting exactly??

Quote from: oldmooseHere is the way I'm planning to go to Yosemite Lakes.

I travel most of this route many times each year and the ranger at YL said this is how he came up in his 34' rig. I5 to Hwy 99. In Merced take "G" St. and turn right. G St. will eventually deadend into J59. We'll take J59 to 132 east to Coulterville. In Coulterville we'll go north on Hwy 49 to Hwy 120 where we'll turn right and proceed to YL. We'll avoid the old Priest Grade. It's been years since I've driven 120. Growing up, we used to go to Yosemite all the time and after I got my license, it was a treat to drive. I even spent 2 years working in the high country, but they were not able to open them this year.

OK SOCal'ers, how to we get together to caravan. We can leave at any time on Thursday.

I hope you mean you bypass Priest Grade alltogther both old and new.
There are 2 of them.

Quote from: oldmooseWe need to find out when the SoCal'ers can leave. I suggest early though to beat some of the heat. We can stop any time for gas or other breaks. Moose

I'd love to caravan up with someone!   :D   As far as I'm concerned, the earlier, the better.  Might I suggest the Starbucks on the downside of the Grapevine?  Parking lots are big enough, and if anyone needs some "personal gas" I'm sure Starbucks will fit the bill.  Just let me know!  Thanks --

For those of you stressed out about the heat, just come to Sacramento a day or two before the rally.  After experiencing the 105-107 degree temps we've been having the last week or two, the cool crisp 97 of Yosemite will feel like A/C!

We're getting prepped for the heat by going to Colorado. It's supposed to be 102 in Ft Collins today and 98 tomorrow. We're going to see our son and his family. Last weekend I was in the Southern Sierra's and it was in high 90's or 100's. We'll survive. I'll probably be low on potassium and maybe required to have a brew or two to correct the deficiency. Since we

Sal and Joan, I am sorry but we are going to have to back out of the rally.  I am having to go back to the working world and to avoid childcare issues I have to work nights and weekends.  I am really sorry, we were looking forward to seeing all our friends again.

I understand I will most likely have to forfeit the deposit but will I be able to get the rest of the money returned?

Thanks so much for putting the rally together.  Maybe we will be able to make it next year.

The deposit is a possibility. It depends on How uptight they are going to be this year. In years past it was no problem, but that was with a different host coordinator. But we can't find out until we get there.
As far as the rest of the money yes. Joan might have used it to pay deposits for some late payers and if so we will get it back at the rally. If not Joan will send it to you. I'm sure she will let you know tomorrow.
But we really know your afraid of the heat and just want to stay home with your AC.:frosty:

bummer Jacqui ...Kevin & Kara are going to be sad...I had just told them yesterday you guys were going.. :%   and I know it's not cause it's hot, you'd just hangout in my TT ;)

all I keep seeing is cancelations :%  so who is still going??

Calstate361

Jacquie, so sorry you guys can't make it, but you gotta do what you gotta do. What job did you get? Since you paid for the whole trip, I'll refund the rest of your money except the $32 for the one night deposit. Do you want me to just tear up the check or return it? Hopefully we will be able to give the deposit back to you as well, but as Sal said, we won't know until we get there.

Since we have had 3 cancellations, here is the current list. Hopefully no one else will cancel. :(
