Jayco 12SO - Leaking Roof

I have a 1998 Jayco 12SO and when it rains I get a dripping from the front edge of the roof into the camper.  Last vacation I noticed I get the same dripping when I have the camper level and the AC on.

I have tried on a couple of occasions to seal the edges of the center strip down the camper.  Alas these efforts have been to no avail.  I notice that the roof is dented slightly in the middle and water pools there.  Hence the leak when the AC is on and level.  If the camper is canted slightly backward, no leak.

I've struggled with the problem and have thought of a ?solution? and wonder if anyone has tried it.  They make a sealing tape in 4" wide rolls.  I thought originally about laying it over the center seal on the camper, then I realized I could remove the metal strip and seal between the two pieces of aluminum with the tape.  I then plan to replace the seal strip.  Anyone done anything like this?  It would sure look better this way than to lay the tape over the top of the seal strip.

Also, I'm trying to remove the 12V heating element on a Norcold N-323 refrigerator.  I tested the resistance and get an infinite so am relatively sure that it is the problem with my refrigerator not working on 12V.  I have tried pulling on the metal part of the element and it seems to be solid.  Anyone know how this puppy is removed?

Thanks,

Starryart

We had a similar problem in our Rockwood and it was the A/C seal. The A/C bolts had loosened slightly and the extra jolting  of the A/C squashed the seal making the problem worse (our roof also has a sag from A/C weight). If we tilted the trailer one way or level - major dripping and if we tilted back the other way it slowed to no drip. Had a new A/C seal put in and tightened. So far so good. We were told that if that seal is compressed too much it needs to be replaced to be effective. Have you checked it out? Worth a try.

I have the exact same problem as you and thought of the same solution but have not tried it yet.  Did it work for you?
