My Dear NightOwl,

You are always welcome (as is anyone) to be an honorary member (or even an extension member) of the NNC.  We are non exclusive by definition!!  Also, I agree with you about the California air...it makes Red Neff Barchetta really strange!!!!!!!I can t believe that ANYONE is that strange naturally (no matter what you have heard about California).

On another note, I want to ask you a personal question...(tongue in cheek though), but I have never seen a TrailManor that gets bigger when it is closed....so as your signature states, you have a 26 footer that grows to 30 feet when closed???[;)][;)][:@]  I am almost willing to bet that you really have 3026!![&:][:D]

Anyhow, Elisa, I always enjoy the nice things that you have to say about TM s and I think that you are one their biggest advocates...I love mine, it is everything you said it would be and more!!

Happy New Year, and Happy Campin  <><

OH, geeze, Larry--put it down to tooo much New Years celebration.[&:][8D][;)]  I ll tell you when that thing looks HUGE, though, and that is when I am camping alone and have to close it without any help.  I SWEAR it grows to about 50 feet.  And to top it all off, sometimes when I am alone  I have to get up and " dance"  on the rear roof section  to get the rear latch to  catch, no doubt to the great amusement of the neighbors. [;)]

I do have to say again how wonderful it is that we havent lost our NNC contingent.  I am now trying to figure out a way to get to the June Rally  (IN addition to getting to see Baby Sacto, I could always use use a little more  gold dust--should I bring my " pan" ? [:)])  Hey, that reminds me, I havent seen anything yet from Y-Guy, but I hear he was moving so maybe he will join us later.

Yes,our  TM is a fun RV,  and I am glad you like yours and have found it useful for transporting  your uniforms and cannons[&:]  Did I tell you I have a bunch of Minie balls I collected in Virginia?  If I ever get to Cal, I will bring you some!!

 Civil_War_BuffGood evening all.

G-whiz always says, " I know when you are on the boards because you re laughing."

Now I can tell when she s on the boards, she clicking here and clicking there trying to figure out how to get the mostest out of the boards.

Nightowl....I hope you can tell that we aren t cliqueish.....however, some of us have camped up to five times together....we truly are becoming a family.  I used to call Mrs. Sammyslave and G-whiz " sisters"  because they get together and laugh and laugh and laugh all the time.  At Cachuma I noticed that now Sammyslave and surfcal BOTH call them sisters too.

I guess we get both the closeness of the board and the camping experience.  What could be better than that???  Well, being able to camp (excuse the correction) ALL YEAR ROUND.

Come on Negative Bouyancy Rally!!!  Hey the 4.5 pounds of kazoos should be here on Monday.

gsm  x2, YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE LAUGHTER PART!!  Billy can always tell when I am on the board[:)] because he can hear me laughing (how bout the thread from Duck about Logan " Christening"  the bath tub--a perfect example[;)] of why there is so much chuckling going on.

One thing quite wonderful is the " feeling"  I see on the board now.  It is more like the PUT spirit of  our early days when the membership was small and people had " personal"  relationships and, except for some trolls and a few heated  disagreements, there was respect and affection and a great  desire to help and encourage and treat each other with  courtesy.  It is nice to see the openess we seem to feel free to express now that  the cynics have moved on.

It is easy to understand the ties developed by the NNC gang; a lot of us who camped  at the Tenn rally feel the same way and I think there were many close bonds established that week.[:D]

Civil_War_BuffWhat happened????  The NNC " Gather Here"  thread disappeared to page 2 because no one has posted in the since 11:00 a.m. this morning.  I ain t much one for rules yous no s, but ain t there some rule that says, " If you see any NNC thread that hasn t been officially closed moving toward the bottom of page one or hasn t been dribbled into for five hours, the next NNCer has to drip some dribble into the thread?

Least ways, I thought that was a rule, but I may be overruled, and it isn t a rule after all.

Hey....what a GREAT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.  Yes, I was rooting for the Buckeyes, but regardless, it was still a great game.

Chez Way

 Civil_War_BuffHi Scott,
I have to second it on the championship game...it was great and you may recall my dh is a big Michigan fan but we were rooting for OSU too.

Also, I want to warmly welcome g-whiz to the boards on behalf of Chez Way (not to be confused with cheese whiz either!).

Red neff Barchetta

Civil_War_BuffNight Owl - I too have noticed that everyone for the most part is just continuing with a great attitude around here.  I briefly lurked at the " other"  site yesterday and PUT grumblings are STILL going on!  I personally haven t seen any ranting on here since the site came back on.  Although, I don t get around to checking every forum & topic so I might have missed any if there is any.

Wow, the prince of egalitarian principles speaks.  So Nick and Sactocampers, I think that s a pretty strong declaration for an Amendment.  Whaddya think?  I agree with him.  Sactocampers, you re the implementer of Amendments?  Do you think this is worthy?  I like it.  Neff would agree, he s the official court bump upper.  Thought I d help Scott pass an Amendment.

" Wow,"  as the piece of pine said, " am I inching toward becoming a ruler? I didn t think I would measure up."

NOTE: for those of you to young to know, they used to make rulers out of wood--the good ones then had a piece of stainless steel added to make a straight edge.  Brilliant move by the ruler makers, since although the stainless was perfectly straight in the store, within a week of purchase it would be a little dent, burr, or nick which ensured:
 [ul]

  • lines drawn would look like this ????????~????
  • that you would go buy another ruler with hopes that " I won t ruin this one."
  • [/ul]

Jeanne--Oh, I do happen to recall that DH is something of a Michigan fan.  Let s see how many indications I can remember.
 [ul]

  • his truck is blue, with the Michigan symbol painted on it
  • your camp chairs are from the Michigan Stadium Club store
  • and that the only thing that he didn t like about the Coleman was that it had Michigan State GREEN on it, but at least it wasn t crimson and silver.
  • your children s names are Ann and Arbor
  • [/ul]
Did I miss any or get any wrong?

I have to admit I am a little suprised to see him rooting for OS.  He seemed like enough of a Wolverine fan that his two favorite teams would be:

     [ul]

  • Michigan
  • The team that was playing Ohio State
  • [/ul]

I hope it won t confuse anyone having ChezWay and G-whiz on the boards.

NNCers--please remember that Chez Whiz and G-Way
ARE NOT people on this board.

Thanks for the welcome.  This is fun and reminds me of when I went online for the first time, way back when, and posted on the bulletin boards.   If I ever do change my nickname, it will be much cheesier.   Something like, Brie Wee or Better Cheddar! [;)]

 Scott,
LOL! Your memory serves you well!  I guess when it was time to choose sides, dh went with the team he hated the least.  It was a tie, so I guess it had something to do with the Big Ten getting that new ESPN award. He tells me that this is the first time that he openly rooted for OSU, but don t let anyone know!  His blood runs Michigan blue.

gsm x2Hi folks, well we re back.  Took a quick trip to Disneyland.  Work asked me to leave two days early... no skin off my back [8D]  So of course the anonymous announcer from the sky asked " Steve you just bought a new Avalanche, got a new job, and sold your Niagara so what are you going to do now?"  We responded We re going to Disneyland!

Well the bad news is that my dad had s major stroke.  I leave for Oregon Sunday for a few days as we transition from hospital to therapy.  Things don t look very good, but he s already disproved the doctors a bit so only time will tell.

Hope everyone had a good new year!

Sorry to hear the news about your dad, and I hope he shows those doctors a thing or two about recovery.  I ll keep your family in my prayers.
