COTOC is planning a spring (April?) white water rafting trip, in the Pocono area.  More info will be posted as plans are made.  SheBantam was really excited about a rafting trip. :D

Paula said that she will be our "lead guide" in her new inflatable kayak!!!
This should be a great trip!

Where in Tracy !!!

Yes the Niagara is now winterized and stowed away in the warm garage for the winter....yikes 7 months till our next trip, god it's going to be a long winter !

Paula, We will go behind your Kayak LOL ~

SheBantam

I cannot stop laughing...Just like at the campfire.

I'll make you all a deal, if I go white water rafting with you all and be the team leader/cheer leader, you all have to watch my Viggo Mortensen Movie Collection, including the Lord of the Rings extended versions.

Here are four outfitters i found that do rafting on that river.  You can see the rates,  time of year and discounts for yourselves.  I guess the first thing we should figure out is when we want to go,  it seems if we want an easy float down the river and  nice warm weather,  summer would be the best.  But if we want to see Paula in a wet suit paddling her butt off through a class 4 rapid,  spring would be much better.

I'm figuring this as a weekend rally,  Friday through Sunday.  With the rafting happening on Saturday for the majority of the day.  Hopefully we can go mid morning and be back at the campground for an evening meal and campfire.

So what are everyone elses thoughts on a trip like this?

I'll start searching private campgrounds in the area next and see what I can come up with,  meanwhile,  please post your idea's and thoughts on the rafting part of the trip.

I am thinking a float in the summer with the camping.

Thanks for all the research...

Paula-
Now that does sound painful!  Have to reconsider...maybe BearBait wants to take the lead after all......

Debbie,  I did send you an email through PUT,  is your address correct here?

debbiedee1957

Yes it is right...did you send it today?  If so, I haven't seen it, it's on my Yahoo acct & I can't get to that from work, I will see it when I go home.
Thanks Lee

Debbie, I do not know which would be more painful, seeing me in a wet suit (I guess that would be an inspiration for me to loose weight by spring and that sounds painful too), or watching the 12 plus hours of LOTR and the Witness (Harrison Ford also), A Walk on the Moon, The Prophesy (Christopher Walkin too), A Perfect Murder (Michael Douglas and Gwenyth Paltro), Boiling Point (with Wesley Snipes) and any others I can obtain by then.

debbiedee1957

Paula,

Just LOTR would be WORSE!....lol

How about we let you be in the middle of the raft with a big life jacket on and a rescue rope????

I can hardley wait it will be fun!!!!

Now that sounds like a better plan.  I could be the one, like in those rowing team boats, that keep cadence so everyone paddles at the same time.   :J

bearbait

We will make sure Jeffrey and Raymond are in your boat Paula,  I want to be in another boat watching you giving those two orders and getting them to work together...:)   I have visions of both of them jumping overboard and swimming for shore to get away from you....:D

SheBantam

Lee, do you think I wear leather and have a whip??  :Z

I am not that mean to them...I just want them both to behave...as far as work together????Raymond and Jeffrey???Raymond will not jump overboard, he does no swim, infact I would be suprised if you could get him in a boat less than 30' long. Jeffrey though would love to be in the raft trying to scare me to death...
