Oh, hi Dave. Hi Lori.

Don't forget Kathy.  :p  Actually, I have retired from practicing law.  Aren't things supposed to get better with practice?  Well, the law didn't after all those years and I thought it silly.  I do still like to arbitrate a good game of zoom once in awhile, though.  :D

Yeah---is it only doctors and lawyers that PRACTICE work? Lawyers--I just suppose that's OK that they PRACTICE...after all, it's mostly just a game.

But DOCTORS: I really don't want my DOCTOR to be PRACTICING...I want him to be DOING.

Any other jobs that PRACTICE? I can't think of any.

Concert pianists!  ;)

I'll give you that they practice, but when they work the PERFORM.  Maybe that's why surgeons, PERFORM surgery....no one wanted them PRACTICING surgery.

I guess professional baseball, basketball, and football players confuse things too.  They PRACTICE a lot, but when they go to work they PLAY.  If they PLAY when they work, what do they do in their off-time?

Read a daily paper:

In their off-time, they violate all sorts of man's laws, keeping those lawyers PRACTICING!!

So anyway, in case anyone is wondering why the Drunk Squad exists, it's probably best expressed by this.  In one episode of 'Cheers', Cliff is seated at the bar describing the 'Buffalo Theory' to his buddy Norm. I don't think I've ever heard the concept explained any better than this...(this is from the NNC archives too).

"Well you see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first.

This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive drinking of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.

In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer.
Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."

So I'm over browsing on the Hybrid Explorer Boards, and couldn't help but notice Y-Guy's signature.
Looks like he is at it again.
He has a  2005 Ford F350 Lariat PSD CrewCab SWB-on order!!!
Let's recap.

He bought a Niagara in 2001
Then bought a Trailblazer to tow it.
He then buys a Kiwi Hybrid.
Then buys an Avalanch to tow it.
Then buys an Outback.
Now buys a 1 Ton Ford to tow it.

Only problem I see, is he is getting a Short Bed on the truck, which he'll regret when he upgrades to a Fifth Wheel!! ;)

Sid - Nice post!   :)   I'm a huge Dave Barry fan.

Kevin -
It really is funny (& fun) to witness Steve ascend through the RV's & TV's so rapidly.  I'l have to go over and give him the business.
He'd save money in the long run if he'd just get it over with and get the $500,000.00 MH and a Hummer to pull behind it.   :D  ;)

Hey Jeff, once again thank you for the fan from last year. We were up in the southern Sierra's with the temps in the low's 90's and it came in handy. I've made an extension cord so I can move it around. It was dry camping so my extra group 27 battery came in handy also.

Moose -
You are very welcome.  My pleasure.  Glad it went to a good home.   :)

Funny thing is that we spend so little time inside our PU that we rarely use the Endless Breeze fan that we have in the PU.  It still is in terrific condition.  Plus now that I installed the FantasticVent ceiling fan/vent our PU really does stay relatively cool (along with solar covers).
In anticipation of the expected heat in Yosemite recently we decided to bring along a small desk top 110-volt fan that we have in the house so we could have 2 fans (besides the silly little 12-volt bunk-end fan/light combo's we use) - 1 for each end of the PU.  Well, since we had the 110-volt already out and since we had hook-up's (NNC rally) it never got so hot that we needed to also pull out the Endless Breeze fan from under the dinette seat.
And the funniest part to this story is that the Endless Breeze fan definitely moves more air than the small 110-volt fan, but we never got around to (or were too lazy) throwing it back in the TV and pulling out the Endless Breeze fan, lol.

I also am a believer in the group 27 batteries.  Not that much more $, but a good many useable amp hours more than a group 24.

No no no - part of the master plan - this way you HAVE to upgrade to a
Crew Chief or Centurion when it is time for the big 5er next spring! :D

Seems like I remember that you all were thinking of upgrading, anything in the works??

Well as a matter of fact the upgrade is well underway.
We bought a 2000 GMC 2500 Crew cab in July - having the brake controller installed next week.

We have a K-Z Frontier 2405 PQS-F on order and MAY take delivery by
Labor Day.  http://www.kz-rv.com/frontier/frontier_2405pqs-f.php

We will now slide out rather than pop-up but our towlite was already on the "dark" side I guess.  Needless to say we are all very excited. :D
