Quote from: tlhdocPaula we can not BURN pies, not even in Rick and Stephies honor.  I might just have a fire stick to donate to the community fire. :D

Tracy, I was not going to burn any pies intentionally, I was going to make them and eat them and think of Steph trying to get me to have one at her place at HR...

Got a Coleman oven last night, to set on my extra gas stove so I can bake a cake or something. I do not do S'mores as they are too sweet, but I got the forks for those who do. Do these ovens do toast? Or can I use the grill side of the stove/grill?

I found a large (not huge) pot roast in the freezer (do not know what I was thinking when I bought this since there are only 3 of us and only 2 of us eat what I cook), I have a dutch oven, carrots, onions and onion soup mix, if someone gives me a hand (my only experience with a dutch oven was not good) to get the right amount of coals to bake the roast, I will be more than glad to provide a roast one evening, everyone could get a taste. I also have a mixer (electric hopefully is in the restroom next door to where I am camped, then again, there is Dave's elecric box I could borrow(???please) for a few mintues to whip potatoes) and a bag of taters.  If others could bring something else to go along with the roast, we could have a nice dinner.

Boiling eggs tonight, since I may be alone, hard boiled eggs seem to be a good choice for some meals. I rarely do lunch meats as the salt and chemicals send the B/P soaring. May split some chicken and chops into baggies and freeze. I also have some Chicken Pot Pie (Chicken and dumpl'ns for you southerners) frozen and will bring a serving bowl of them.  Heat and eat...If I would have thought about it, I would have put some in the baggies you can put in boiling water and have a heat and eat meal...but am used to the luxury of a microwave...boiling water...perking coffee, using coals to cook with...that is roughing it.
And to think I work with women who think roughing it is no room service.

OOWWW I may be in BIG trouble. Just did a search for the nearest Walmart, looks like State College??? Over 50 miles!!!

Kmart is a little closer, just a little... between 25 and 50 miles, in Towanda.

Where can I get things that I ran out of or forgot. I am packing for one, but like at Hickory Run, Raymond may show up and if he does, it will be with Jeffrey, so I will need to get extra food.

Paula,

There is a General Store not too far from the CG but they have a limited selection and are pricey.

Just before you turn off Rt 220 is the town of Jersey Shore. They have a regular Groc. store there as well as general merch. stores.

As far as a WalMart. You pass right by one just before Williamsport at the Montoursville exit on I-180. Good for a stop on the way but too far to make a trip from camp. Towanda & State College are quite a distance away.

Quote from: MTNDAVEIt's not that it is BAD.  Just not too tasty as I remember, like most hand pump water in the CG's......of course we are also a bit picky when it come to water since ours comes from "Crystal Lake" which lives up to it's name.  That's why we always bring drinking water from home.  Spoiled I guess.

Dave is all of the water hand pump or do they have faucets so you can fill your water tank?

All packed and ready togo. Hitched up without the aid of Raymond or Jeffrey (nothing New there). Have to remember the dutch oven.  I think I am going to lay down awhile, it is Philly Wilmington rush hour on the route I am taking. I hope I remembered everything, I have enough to feed an army, but in the smallest quantities I could find. Can you tell I had to take benadryl last night and am still a little disjointed?

See you all tomorrow when  you get there.

MTNDAVE

Guess Paula is on her way.

I'm all packed and ready to hook up.  If work goes good today I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning (hope, after setting up,  to get a bike ride in before dark).  I may have to see the office in the morning for some damage control, which will delay me till around 1:00pm for a departure.  Either way, see ya there.

tlhdoc

Dave are you ignoring my post? :(

Are there regular faucets to fill the water tank or only hand pumps?

DiW

Tracy,
Thanks for the offer for a warm place to crash. We may just take you up on it, but it looks like we can't come until Sat. afternoon. Turns out the girls have to attend dance class Sat morn - can't get out of it now that they're officially part of the Christmas show.

They are 2 of the Felicia Maloney Highland Dancers... Sure is going to be busy around here once again. Kelsey just got the call she made the travel bball team and travel soccer doesn't end until Nov

Di Jon is going home sometime Saturday.  If you get there and we are gone just make yourself at home.  I am not sure if DH is coming to the campground or if I will meet him some where.  I am not going to use the refrig because I am only bring a little bit of food, but I should have room in the cooler for some stuff.  My plan is to make waffles for breakfast.  The leftover pie filling will be good on top.

If anyone needs gas around the Williamsport area take the Maynard St. exit on the west side of Williamsport.  There is a Sheetz gas station and a Wendy's there.  Sheetz usually has the lowest prices for that area.  It is an easy off, easy on exit. :)

Whoops.....Soooo Sorry.  I was at work till 6:30pm and just got home.  Had limited time on line @ work today.

The faucets I took note to were pump type and did not appear to be of the type to do a hookup to a tank. Not sure if any of them would take a hose hookup....maybe. Although I did not take a real look around since I don't use my onboard tank. It's possible down by the gaurd station/dumpstation area or near the bathrooms there may be a place. We could always bucket brigade and siphon into your tank.

Good thinking Tracy....I forgot all about that Sheetz.  Really is an easy on/off for gass and goodies too.

We are ready..............:D

I worked 12 hours today so I didnt have to go in the office tomorrow.

PU is at the ready and all the stuff to go in the truck is at the garage door waiting to load. Sooooo......that means we are heading out EARLY tomorrow with hopes nobody is on OUR site (does that sound too possessive?) and we can get in and up early.

Weather looks outstanding !!!!!!!!! A perfect weekend to camp, commune with friends, bike, fish, hike, lounge around and foul the air with campfire smoke.

copcarguy

Awww man...  I wish we could be going with you all.

DiW:  Are any of you guys coming up to North Lake in a few weekends??

DiW

Rick,
I don't think we'll make the trip to North-South Lake. I was supposed to bring Courtney to Boston that weekend but we will probably go next weekend instead. Seems 10/23 is homecoming weekend and C doesn't want to miss it. Jason is busy with marching band stuff for the football game and both kids will be attending the Homecoming Dance I imagine. I'm pretty sure Chris is stuck with chaperoning duties at some of these things..oh such fun.
