OC Campers

We were thinking of visiting Marineworld but would like to take the camper so the drive home isn't so bad.  Does anyone know of a nice campground or RV park nearby?  Also if you have any suggestions or comments on Marineworld I would appreciate it.

Didn't they close years ago? Do you mean Sea World? If so, there are a few campgrounds close to it. Or do you want to camp between there and home?

The Marineworld in Los Angeles closed years ago but there is one in Northern California that is owned by Skx Flags

Del Valle, near Livermore, might be close enough.

Del Valle is about 1 1/2 hrs in the opposite direction from your home.  If you are going there for the day it's not a bad ride back and forth, by the time you get set up somewhere you could be home in bed!
Give me a PM or call me (our # is on the contact list)- we live really close to there and we have season passes, maybe could coordinate and make use of some of our visitor passes.

Thanks Rojana, that would be great if we could meet up.
The camping was just a thought. It isn't very far from home but after a long day playing it is hard to get in the car and drive.

I was looking in the camping book tonite and came across a KOA in Petaluma.  Has anyone stayed there?  I am not big on KOA's but for hookups and a pool they usually work out fine.

I will let you know when we decide to go.

Petaluma is about half hour to 45 minutes from Marine World - rOCklin is less than a 2 hour drive.

Hmm.  Don't people in Vallejo camp?  :D There is always a campground near a theme park.  Even Disneyland has a few RV parks near by.  I may not stay there but at least they have some.:eyecrazy: :p

Well if you're bound and determined to making a camping trip out of Marine World you might consider Lake Berryessa or Lake Solano Cnty Park
Here is a good link for area camping:

I looked at my StreetAtlas 2004 for campgrounds near Vallejo, and these two came up.  I know nothing about them, but they are just a phone call away.

Spoken from someone who grew up there for a while and worked down the street from Tradewinds (still have many relatives in town), it's NOT the place to camp-most all are "long term" residents.  They are in what can diplomatically be called the wrong side of town.

I will second the votes for Lake Solano.
