More bad news!  Ran out to the store today and when I pulled into the driveway - transmission was smoking again!     Grrr...

NO NEW CARS!!!!! Booooo!!!!!!  Hissssss!!!!

Luckly I only have to work two days this week!

Just how do you pull a transmission with out the proper transmission jack?? Why the red-neck way of course!! :D  No worries, it is safe (in fact, better than some methods) ~Sigh~ I have it loaded in the trailer to bring to a tranny shop.. Hope it is a cheap repair. It could still be one of the inner seals that is bad. Tranny does not need a rebuild, it shifts perfect, just leaks a lot of oil right now.

After having owned SO many vehicles in my life (I think the count's at 34 right now) I can honestly say that no matter what the make of car, the heater core is probably the first part they put in a car when they're building it.  Then they bury it under everything, and make it a 10 hour job to change it.  The only heater core job I have ever done that was under an hour of labor was a '77 Ford E-150 van without A/C.  Just 4 little screws, and 2 hose clamps and that was it.

Also, as a side note, if anyone has the inside of their windows constantly coated with an oily film and/or fog that just WILL NOT go away, and you smell a sweet-ish smell, your heater core is probably bad and you're breathing in antifreeze vapor.  Get it fixed ASAP!
