I think I'm the wrong guy to review this RV resort because I'm a camper not an RV'er. I'll be as objective as possible, first of all I got one of the SuperSites figuring it would be really nice but the truth is they are geared up for big class A's and giant 5'ers so that was a mistake. The site was not that clean, the sewer drain had toilet paper around the opening and it looked as if it had over flowed but there was no odor and it was dry, I didn't use it anyway. The site lay out seemed strange with the picnic tables right next to the sewer drains, listening to the waste run down the hose as your eating is a little unappetizing to say the least. The pictures on the website are a little deceiving the pool is much smaller than it looks in the snapshot. The grounds are nice and the restrooms and showers are clean although they were a little far away from our site, again I believe it's because we got a Supersite and most Boomer's use thier own facilities. I checked out the basic sites (tent sites) electric & water and they seemed nicer for the Popup, although it was a large open field basically right next to each other. They were closer to the restrooms and if I had to do it again I would do the tent sites. It seemed easy for anyone to just pull into the campground, something I found disturbing at any time of day or night. There is a security shed but no one was there the entire time we were. We got back to the CG at 3 am and I believe anyone could just pull in. Last and one of the most important things for me is no campfires. Even though Fort Wilderness dosen't allow campfires your camping at Disney World and as to compare one with the other there is no comparison I would rather stay at FW anyday.
Would I return to Tropical Palms probably not, maybe with a MH but not with the Popup, this by no means saying that others would not enjoy this campground. Private campgrounds just make me love my State and National parks more and more......And so it goes.:)

I stayed there in April and I have to agree with your review. As far as I know the campfire rule is for the entire state of Florida. No groundfires I believe.

Hey Chas,
I'm really not sure about the rule at private campgrounds, but as far as State parks go campfires are allowed. During a very dry or windy period they might issue a ban but I've yet to run into that problem. I've been to about half of them and all have had nice fire rings. To me it's just not camping if there's no campfire.
