Quote from: Steve-o-budI believe that all the sites have electric and water. I think that some of the sites in B section do not have sewer hookups, but I might be mistaken on that. I like B section, because it is a bit more wooded than some of the other areas.

It does get chilly, but not as cold as Idylwild, which is quite a bit higher in elevation.. I usually go by the forecast in Banning, and then figure about 5 degrees cooler.

Holly and I are members, if the weather isn't too cold, this sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

The section of B I am looking at ( by the bridge to the family center) has full hookups.

IN the past it was in the mid to hi 50's that weekend.... but this year?  who knows.

Curious - does someone want to help me with planning this?  I can track everybody, but would be like someone to help with organizing the stuff on the days.

And again, this is President's Day weekend.  We will be there friday through monday. ( I will probably go up on THursday though )

Ok - just curious - since we are looking at 15 plus campers - how do we get this on the SCC Web page?

And is anyone interested in helping corrdinate things that weekend?

Pastor Dustin,

Just e-mail gsm x2 (aka Scott) through PUT and he can add it to the SCC Web page.  I'm trying to remember whether he and his wife g-whiz (aka Georgeanne) are out of town visiting relatives back East for the holidays.  They may be, so it might be a litlle bit before you get a reply.

 Have a blessed Christmas!

Quote from: AzusateachGreetings from Azusa! I finally decided to just do it & subscribe to the magazine, and now I can officially reply to things going on here. I've been "watching" the chatter about the Silent Valley weekend and would love to join you. I'm new to the PU scene, having just purchased a Rockwood 1950. I've taken it out once, and had a blast! Everything works, and I'm chomping at the bit to go more. It's nice to know that there are like-minded folks out there with the same kind of trailer I have -- makes me feel a bit more affirmed in my purchase. About Silent Valley ... I have a free visit coming, so I think I'll use that, if it's okay. Can I request a specific area, or if I tell them that I'd like to be part of your group will they put me with you? Lots of questions, lots of enthusiasm! Thanks!
We too have a free visit coming and would also like to know if we can use it during the trip.  Sounds like fun

I think we are pretty much required to come because Dirk's b-day is on the 14th.  With heaters and a down comforter, it shouldn't be too hard to stay warm.

In regard to planning, from what I've observed on at least some of the rallies, we just pretty much agree that there's going to be a breakfast potluck and at least one dinner potluck and then voila - it happens.  It may be magic or something or maybe there's a lot more behind-the-scenes planning than I'm aware of.  For this weekend, since most of us will stay until Monday, we may want potlucks on both Sat & Sun evenings.   Does anyone have preferences for any particular activity that the campground offers?   We can decide ahead of time that a group of us all want to do x activity Sat. afternoon (for example) or just play it by ear once we get there.

Maybe there's an uber-planner out there that would like to have things a little more nailed down than my seat-of-your-pants philosophy.  What does that mean anyway - fly by the seat of my pants?  How would you do that?  None of my pants fly.  Anyway...

We're looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time.

Joan, I couldn't resist.  I love finding out this silly stuff, which after you find out isn't so silly and makes total sense!!!

Flying by the seat of your pants

Meaning:To do something without planning, to change course midstream, to figure things out as you go.Example:Most stock investors are not making educated decisions, they are just flying by the seat of their pants.Origin:Before airplanes had sophisticated instruments and flight control systems, and even today, planes are piloted by feel.   Pilots can feel the reactions of the plane in response to their actions at the controls.  Being the largest point of contact between pilot and plane, most of the feel or feedback comes through the seat of the pants.  If you are "flying by the seat of your pants" your are responding to the feedback received.

Just updated the list of attendees at the Future Trips section of www.sccampers.org There are a couple of question marks for people who sounded like they were attending, but I couldn't really nail down if they were or not. Please let me know.
