Ok this is getting freaky.....we are also going to a family reunion in late June.  Kelly, Jan...are we long lost sisters??   Mom is so excited about tis reunion it's all she talks about !! :)

I have the best site in the park reserved for Mothers Day weekend. Booked a  site for Memorial Weekend was too slow on the mouse to get that site again,so settled on another good site. (staying local , not to fight holiday traffic going nowhere fast up I-75) I was amazed when I checked back 2 days later, to possibly reserve a 2nd site and the park is booked already.

As the winter progresses we'll make a few more. Going all the way to where we prefer won't happen as much this coming summer. Hard to justify over $70.00 in gas to camp for 2 nights so I see more local camping happening, which unfortunately means more reservations.

We are also planning on heading East in the fall (long as DH can get 2 weeks off in a row)....

So far, we have our reservations for Fort Wilderness begining on the end of March and staying for 4 days.  My children are very excitted as am I.  I hope we can also return to Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach this summer.  We may also try to camp at a couple of races this year (Charlotte and Martinsville).

Hope everyone gets a chance to camp a whole lot in '05!

You all have made me feel so guilty that I am logging off and going to make some reservations at my favorite provincial Parks!

We are also planning a family reunion camping trip in June, seems many are having family reunion's in the June timeframe. I have the popup rally in July, but unsure if I can get the time off to attend. Then trips planned each non-military weekend with some of my local close camping friends.

There is a KOA here in Wilmington, NC and one near Shallotte, NC if you want hook-ups. Carolina Beach SP isn't bad but offers no hook-ups.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park is on the north side of Myrtle Beach, SC and offers quite a bit if you don't mind the "mega-CG" atmosphere. This is our favorite for the area and where we intend to spend New Years!

A little farther north is Salter Path (central coast of NC).... nice park, plenty to do. If I can help, feel free to email me!

I've been making plans for the last five years to just meander west with the popup in tow, the fly rod and all related bric-a-brac loaded aboard, and just stop here and there, fish awhile, camp awhile, look around - whatever. Could and would even consider heading north to Alaska while I was at it!  But one thing or another keeps this from happening; either commitments, health or personal issues. Take last season for example - it was cataract surgrery. My eyes had got to the point that SOMETHING had to be done, so one eye was done in June and the other in August, and that just messed up the season!

Anyway, the little Starcraft is all serviced, ready to go, even as I peck this out! My fly rod(s) and related stuff would only take a few minutes to load aboard. Now, I've made several "short hops" - 1000 to 2000 mile trips (that's one way), and if I can't pull this long haul trip off pulling the camper, then I might have to resort to taking an airline out that way, along with maybe a tent!

But the plans are on doing  some short hops around here come March and April, however, by May I want to be honking on down the road for a long haul.
