Thanks for the input regarding being able to survive for 3 days on a good battery and bottle of propane. I have a 20 gallon water tank and I bring 2 1/2 gallons of bottled water for cooking and drinking. So I think we should be ok!

I hear the campground is very nice and I know my site is in total shade with a 40' drive-in....

I'll have a few cold ones in the cooler for anyone that want to come visit!!!!

See ya all soon... :!

Hi Ya all, thought maybe I would chime in and answer a few questions   At least the ones I have answers to or at least think I do.

This is kind of a self-serve rally, nothing structured.  Didn

Anyone up to having the usual Potlucks?  If so, I wouldn't mind hosting them.  What does Hosting consist of?  I hope you all don't mind but we are in space #5 which is a ways from most of you.

PopUpMomma

Hi Kim
I would imagine it doesn't consist of much.  Probably picking a time and a place and letting everyone know.  Probably making sure everything is cleaned up when everyone leaves.  I would pick the center of the caravan so people don't have to move chairs etc and just let everyone know what time....I would think it depends on when it gets dark so you can have it early enough so people could get back and clean up before dark.  It will be daylight savings so it will stay light later.  Then anything goes.  You could ask all if they want a theme or ????  I think mostly in the larger rallies, they don't theme.  You might keep a list of of what people are bringing...dessert, main, salad  etc....but that's not necessary either.  So as little or as much as you want.  There aren't too many familys goings so it should be a nice small party.  It will be easy to sit and chat with everyone for a while.

I vote for a potluck dinner and breakfast on Sat.  We will probably be in town during the day...Sunday its get up and get packed to go home...we do something really easy.  All the potlucks I have attended it works out o.k. and food is evenly distributed.  I'm for unplanned, easy and just great people, enjoying nature.

Works for me!!!

I'm good with that, too.  It's going to be simple fare for me, though, with no hook-ups.  I do make a mean banana nut/chocolate chip muffin, so think that'll be my contribution for breakfast.  Dinner ... if I brought a crock pot with stuff in it, would one of you hook-up folks be willing to let me plug it in?

I love using Crock Pots for Rally Potlucks.  You can use our electric but the Crock Pot would have to be out of the reach of our kids.  We can figure something out when the time comes.

Hmmm, I've seen Joshie in action. Is there really a place that is out of his reach? ;)

I just fell upon this great place and went to the website to sign up for the April 15-17th weekend.  I wanted to let you know that I reserved space #36.  We have a 1983 Coleman (model ?).  The kids and I (daughter 14 and son 13) will be there with bells on!

My son has autsim and loves camping.  We have taken our new trailer to a camp site near Magic Mountain, San Felipe Mexico and before we had the trailer we camped at the desert (Glamis, Gordon's Well and Dumont) so we are well versed with camping in general - just nor with the pop-up trailer.

I am looking forward to learning more about my pop up and how I can modify it to better suit us.  I have read many of the posts and visited the invidual sites that showed photos of the modications - very impressive!  My daughter is allready gung-ho about making some of the space saving modifiacations already.

We are headed for San Felipe on March 19th to the 28th and as long as we don't decide to stay on the beautiful beach forever - we will  be seeing you all in April.  Who knows, we might sign up for more trips if you will have us back.  I spent almost 10 years in Ramona and am new to the area of La Mesa (where I moved 6 mohtns ago) so going back to Julian will be like going back "home" to me.

I am glad I found a family based group that likes to camp.  Being a single mother with a special needs child is hard enough - camping alone with the kids will hopefully be a thing of the past once I get involved with this and other groups.

Thank you and look forward to seeing you soon!

Here is the link to some pictures I have posted in my msn group page.  There are some pictures of the trailer when we were in San Felipe (the dates on the pictures are incorrect they should read Jan 2005).

Hi Leslie,

Welcome aboard, it looks like we will be close to your campsite. We will be in space #34. This will also be our first trip/rally with the SCcampers. I'm sure we are all going to have a great time and we look forward to meeting everyone soon. Let me know if you have any questions I can try and answer for you.

See ya soon!!! :!
