As I sit here looking at the five feet of snow we've recieved in the past few days I can't help but think about my first camping trip this year.  I'm planning on Lake Havasu April 28th through May 5th but I have no idea as to what camp ground to go to.

Has anyone been camping in Lake Havasu? And what recommendations might you have.  Thanks.

We have stayed a beachcomer when we had our boat years ago.  After discovering Lake Powell we never went back to Havasu, too crowded.

Are you taking kids with?  If not, and you are looking for adult fun, go a little further south to Parker.  We aren't to big on Laughlin, the river runs really swift making boating and skiing a bummer.

Not bringing any kids and the main focus will be kayaking so I need a lake.  Powell is great but I was looking something new because I go to Powell all the time because it's close.  Where's Parker?  Is it a lake?  Thanks for the input.

We kayaked Powell for seven days once.  It was so great!  Parker is on the River so you will want to go up to Havasu then.  We stayed at the Beachcomer campground.  But the link above has more listed.  Take a small tent with you so that you can stay out on the lake in one of the canyons a night or two.

Southwind Kayaks here in So Cal leads trips to Havasu.  You might check their website above or call them, they would be able to tell you the best places to stay and put in.

Have a great trip!
