fishintony

I know where I will be, Ill be steamin my way down the

The railroad Society will again have the very popular

As I remember, there are very few sites that have full hookups. Some have water and electric and some just have electric. Many sites have no hookups. At the moment you can't get into Lake Piru due to mud and the lake is overflowing the spillway.

If Piru doesn't work out, how about Santa Paula?

oldmoose

Far West Resorts near Santa Paula has water and electric and is a good campground.

We are definitely interested in a rail fest rally...my dh loves trains.  He has quite a collection of the little ones.

Dee4j

hmmm..I smell a rally in the air :D

Sue Hardee

the Hardee's would be very interested in this one too....My grandson loves trains.  Please keep us in the loop...If this gets going Piru or Santa Paula is fine with us.

griffsmom

How far is Santa Paula from Lake Piru?

oldmoose

If you're at the Piru campground, it's about 45 minutes to an hour to SP. The trains depart from Filmore though.

I guess I wasn't understanding the Lake Piru and Rail fest connection.  Maybe it was just camping at Lake Piru?

Dee4j

here's my friends 2 cents on campgrounds..

[I know where this railroad is, in Fillmore, becuase I took Logan for Thomas
the Train day.  Piru campgrounds are not very nice.  I have never stayed at
Castaic.  The lake is not very clean but the campgrounds might be fine.
Perhaps you can check the website?
That campground in Santa Paula where I met you is pretty close to Fillmore.
I would recommend staying there.[/

everybody-

Piru is seventeen miles from Santa Paula. Piru campground can have some pretty rugged people there depending on the time of year. I've seen fisticuffs in action.

Well Piru doesn't seem to be the place for our little group.
