everybody-

I'm not trying to cause grief, just to give an opinion. I've been going fishing at Piru all my life and never had any real problem, but I've seen quite a few.People go there to get hammered and bad things happen.

Even though the actual distance is short, the roads are twisty so it takes time to get around. In Santa Paula there's a place called Far West Resort. The"Birch" area seems like a nice spot for a group. Never been there nor have any details but heard some decent things about them. They have a web page and the location is closer.

Casitas is further but many of you have been before. At least you can start and end your day next to a lake. What with the recent rainfall the level should be close to normal. Spring might be a nice time to visit.

This looks good, and I like what I see regarding the Far West Campground, and the Railfest looks fun.  I think we will make plans to camp this weekend.

The combination of the Railfest and the Santa Paula campground looks good for us.

OK, I need alittle clarification.  Are we planning on Far West resort in Santa Paula or doing another campground?  Do we have a wagonmaster or do we need one?  Railfest looks like a lot of fun.

Uh-oh, it sounds like Kim's volunteering to be wagonmistress. All in favor, say "aye-yi-yyi"!  Congratulations Kim!

I wanna go!!!  We're starting softball season very shortly and it looks like we have an even number of teams in our division, so we won't have any "bye" weekends.  Not to mention that Paul is a division commissioner now, so we're so deeply entrenched now that we're eating, sleeping and living softball.  Maybe we'll luck out and end up with three good pitchers (yeah right) so they won't miss Emily if we leave for the weekend (not to mention missing the scorekeeper and head coach, but oh well!)

What did DH get me into?  I called Far West today and they don't have very many spots availabe for the week end 3/18-20.  There are only 2 open in Birch and not sure about Alder
.
Now, if you want to get together the next week 3/25-27, there are 11 available in Birch (closest to bathroom as I remember and this is where we camped last year) and 9 in Alder(this is the circular campground).  The cost is $19 per night with a 6 site min.  As I remember, there was water and electric but no sewers.  How does the week of 3/25-27 sound to everyone.  Please let me know.

Dave will have to check and see if he has a trial scheduled that Monday, but if not, we would like to go.  I vote for Alder, even if it's a bit further from the loo, b/c the circle is nice for a group.

P.S. When is Easter?  I know Ash Wednesday is 2/9, so Easter will be early this year--maybe the weekend of the 25th or possibly very early April?

OC Campers

Easter is the last Sunday in March.  March 27 I believe.

I know some of us are going to William Heise the week of April 15 so I didn't know if you guys wanted one so close to one another.  I know that we are going and I'd have to check with DH to see if he'd want to go camping twice in less than a month.

I can check and see what's available the 1st part of April if that's when you guys want to go.  How does May sound?

OOPS!  When I talked to Far West I didn't have a calendar with me and because of that I picked out Easter weekend.  GOOD JOB KIM.  That's what I get for calling from the car.

The railfest is only the weekend of March 19 and 20.  Does anyone know of any other campsites available that weekend?

GeorgeHR

Here is a list of Ventura County parks I have never camped in any of them.
