Quote from: TheVikingOk, I need opinions! According to Yahoo maps, my fastest route to Campland from Lancaster is to take the 14 to the 5, and then the 5 all the way into San Diego. Trip time is 3 Hrs 3 Min. Now, let's come back to reality. How long will it really take? It will be about 8:00 am when I leave, it is a Holiday so that might help. It might suck.  If your'e really good, how long will it take me to pop my first beer once I get there?

I'd stay off the 5 as much as possible.  It always gets hung up.  The 210 is pretty much wide-open in the morning going east.  Having grown up in San Diego, I'd take 14 to 5 to the 210, to 15 South, to 78.  Take that west to 5 south & in to San Diego.  (There's another small connecting road from the 15 to the 5 further south, but I don't remember the number -- it's by La Jolla.)  The 210/15 drive is the least crowded at that time of day.  Wish I could remember the name of the exit from 5 to Campland -- I think it's the Grand/Garnet exit, or the one just past that.  Happy trails!

YIPPEE!!!!   can't wait to celebrate!!!! a certain so-in-so's 4-0

i've got friday off, so i'm driving the rig down myself (hubby has to work and will come down fri eve). so, hopefully, someone's around to help me back in.
i plan on leaving before 9:00, so will probably arrive around 1:00ish??
my only route is the 405 to the 5, so i will have to deal w/whatever traffice there is.

Maybe we will see each other on the road and do an unplanned caravan. I will be going down the 5 as well and have a 1:00 arrival time.  I hope traffic is decent,  maybe the holiday will help out.

Just made my reservation for Thursday night.  Just fyi Brian, they told me check in time is 2:00.  Hopefully, they'll be accommodating if we're there a little early so we can get this party started! :-() :cake: :!
