Indian summer in SoCal this weekend? If only that was the case. Are you trying to make the folks back east feel bad or what? I did surf Trestles the past few days [Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday]. It was crowded but excellent [head high today]. If the weather forecast is correct Thursday will be the last day to camp and/or surf for a few days.

I'm a long boarder (or at least I used to be before my son came along 4 years ago) so where's the "Cadillac on in to shore" choice!?!

 
B/G (Before Griffin), I used to surf at Old Man's and Dog Patch.  Now that my little one is 4, I'm hoping this will be the summer to get him up on a board.  Now, if I could only fit into my wetsuit again....

That's why I bought Dan a wetsuit for pismo..I wasn't even gonna go there.

I'm a long-boarder myself.  My teenage son is a short boarder.  So is my daughter.  My son also skimboards.  Not me.....I'll just stay with riding my waves.

I started surfing on long boards in 1956. In 1968 short boards came to California. At that time I was on the Gordie surf team, so I asked Gordie to make me a short board. On this site, I can't tell you what he said short boards were good for. So I went to Chuck Dent, he put me on his team and gave me a short board. I rode short boards for 20 years then I changed back to long boards. Every year I get heavier and my boards get longer. I have 3 sons and eight grandkids - they're all shortboarders. When we all paddle out together - we bring our own crowd.
