We just made reservations at Paradise campground in Santa Barbara for the weekend (Thurs-Sun) of August 11-14th if anybody is interested in joining us. .

Its a small campground (15 sites with 2 double sites) but it seems to still have most sites open that weekend.

You can check out the info at: http://www.reserveamerica.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/ca/para/newindex.html

Is this dry camping???..I don't see if they have ANY hookups at all.

jendak760

I don't believe they have any hookups other than I think they do have water at each site. You have to read when you click on the individual site numbers, but when I was going through choosing a site (we are in sute #14), I thought most if not all ~ had water.

Come on, you can do it!!!

We are planning on attending this one.  Hope to meet lots of new people. We just bought our first PU so can't wait to break it in. Not sure about the site yet but will post it next week.

We'll have just gotten back from the NNC Yosemite rally the Monday before this trip, so we won't be able to join you, even though we love Santa Barbara.   But please let us know how it is.  It's fun to hear about new cgs!  :)

Hi All, Im New here to these forums, and have been browsing around. I saw this post and wanted to chime in. We camp at Paradise frequently, and yes there are 15 sites but only 11 are reservable. 1 is for the camp host and 3 are mixed in with the others. Two of the reservable sites are what they call "Doubles" you have to pay twice the fees, but can put more people into them. I personally like sites #1,2,3,15,14. There are flush toilets ate the CG, and there are water spigots between most of the sites, the spigots are the type you have to hold on, for the water to run, they have no threads on them for hoses, and there are rules for that purpose. Its about and hour and a half drive from the Conejo Valley. Hope that helps..

There are no threads on the spigots whatsoever :(  There are even warnings posted at each spigot to not hook up a hose to it. The camp host is pretty cool
and easy going.
I usually take a collapsable water tank, and fill my pup with it, granted my pup only holds 10 gallons :)

So now that you have been there and back. How was it?

jendak760

We did not make it due to technicale dificulties. I called the reservation line to ask some questions and they ended up cancelling my reservation. So I left it with that. We have alot going right now so decided not to go.
