Hi,

My husband and I are new to this board.  We live in Arizona and have a Starcraft pop-up camper.  We are looking for some people who would like to start a group to camp together sometimes.  We have no children except our 3 dogs.  Our age group is 30 to early 40's,  although it doesn't matter to us about age.  We also own a boat and like to camp at the lakes.

Please let me know if anyone would be interested in starting something.
I have been looking for Arizona camping clubs and haven't been successful.

Hi Maria!

I'm glad you found PUT!  We have a number of campers from AZ and hopefully they will see your post and reply.  You might also consider doing a search of the site and using Arizona or AZ as one of your search terms.  That might pull up a few AZ campers that you could contact.

I'm in So Cal, so can't help with the AZ camping thing, but I just wanted to say hi :W and welcome you to the boards. :D

Welcome to SCCampers!  We moved from Gilbert Az. to SoCal back in December after living there for 32 years, so we know Az pretty well. We camped in Payson alot when we were there. Where are you from in Az?

We tried and had a group a couple years ago but people either moved to bigger units or moved in general. We still camp with one of the old members as often as we can. You are right there does need to be a group and ring leader. DH and I are also in our 40's. We just camped at Lake Pleasant this past weekend and almost got blown away but we made it through. Maybe we can get one started again. Let me know.

Maria, Joe & Mary, Barizona, and SCCampers et al,

We live in Scottsdale, and have also been looking for a local AZ camping club. I saw one other post on RV.net for someone else also looking to start a AZ club, but they hadn't had much feedback (so that makes at least 5 of us). We should join forces and start a common club. There are so many beautiful places to camp here in our state. Some of our favorite campsites are Canyon Point, Fools Hollow Lake, and Kaibab Lake. We could even host the SCCampers at one of our sites, or better yet,
as Dee4j suggested meet them halfway at the river. The SCCampers are a great group to pattern a local camping club after. We joined them last year for the Halloween Rally in Temecula and we going back again this fall.

So count us in as charter members of a new AZ club. Does anyone have any catchy names?

We look forward to meeting you guys in Temecula in October. It will be cool having someone from where I spent 32 of the 41 years of my life there to talk about some of the things in AZ. I tried to get something going on the boards to get a camping club in Arizona when we lived there but had no luck.

Dave and Sandy - we also live in Scottsdale around 56th St. and Cactus.
Are you north or south.  We just spent the weekend at Lake Pleasant and had a great time except for the winds Saturday night.

We also like to go to the White Mountains in the summer. We would like to meet up with other families or individuals anytime for camping. DH generally has Fridays off so we can make a long weekend.  My DD is still in school until May 25th so we need to stay close by until then. We are also going to MN for my mother's 80th B-day during the first week of May.  We also have a camping spot reserved at San Clemente SB the first week of June but that is all the travel plans we have so far.

As far as meeting along the river with SCC club the temps will be hot soon so maybe towards late fall might be better and we need to see what would be available.

Viking -It would be great to get together for a ralley somewhere between the two. Let's keep the idea going...

Arizonans - I would like to help but I could not do it alone. Could we do some brainstorming here and maybe come up with a plan? Thanks.

We are camping at Circle Pines over the fourth of July and nine days up in Bryce Canyon the last half of July. We live on the far west side on 91st ave and Highland area. Our email is shirleynbillsr@msn.com and would really like to help in some way to get an Arizona pop up club going. As I said we are in our 50's but not by choice. Give us a shout. Happy camping Barizona
