Drink beer and sit by the campfire :p

One of my dogs favorite camping hobbies is seeing how many walks he can get me to take him on  in one day :)

Me, I like to day hike & go shooting (pics that is) , build fires, relax and drink wine, relax some more.....did I mention I like to relax...(inbetween dog walks)

I'm with you D.  Think I will have to squeeze a little of that in too at Pismo

Riding the bikes with the kids. Fishing and on rainy days we are trying to learn origami. We have 3 kids (10,7 and 4) so this is something they can even take with them on the road and do. It also works well during Church sermons, although throwing paper airplanes across the sanctuary doesn't go down too well   :D

We like to fish and set by the fire.  DH likes to walk around the lake, sometimes flipping a lure on his way.  I prefer to do Crossums puzzles or the ones in Games magazines.  I also like to read magazines or books.

you forgot the banshees, marcy.  I'm pretty sure that if you have to bring more than one blender, making banshees is definitely a hobby!  ;)  :)  :D

I usually play with the kids and take them fishing.  They get so excited even when they catch a blue-gil the excitement is priceless.  I walk around the campsites talking to the fellow campers, site around the campfire drinking beer, and relaxing with friends.  The relaxation, spending time with my kids, and fellowship is the main reason we enjoy camping, Um did I also mention drinking beer with my friends :)

I usually bring along my bike as some of the Provincial Parks are quite large and you can have a nice ride inside the park. In addition it is often nice to ride to the small towns that are usually close to the park, that is a great way to see things that would miss going by at 60 mph.

For a more sedinatry hobby at the CG I do Chip Carving, and DW is a quilter.

I DO TOO!!  ;>  DH laughs at me because I get just as excited when I catch a three inch blue gill as when i catch a three pound bass! hehehe

it's a great opportunity to take the scrapbooking stuff and try and finish some projects....especially with a movie on.  I agree...gotta be doing something when her watching TV!!!

I've also taken a basket with mending items that I never seem to get done.

But with the mention of cross stitching...maybe I'll dig out some of my unfinished x-stitch projects!!!

Of course, reading and siesta-ing are all important.  And kayaking.

Photography, hiking, NAPPING, and will do some computering...but I am starting to leave the laptop at home.  Now adding geocaching to the mix also.

Nice work on your knitting Lori.

It's fun to read everyone's comments.  It's given me some ideas on other things we can do while camping.  We have definitely added geo-caching to our list and I think we'll be teaching Griffin how to fish in the very near future.  I especially like the napping hobby. ;)

Thanks for all the nice comments about my projects.  I usually work on them after Griffin goes to bed around 9 pm, but then get so engrossed in what I'm working on that next thing I know, it's 2 in the morning!  I have to force myself to go to bed!  Good thing I don't need as much sleep as I used to B.G. (Before Griffin)  :)

I think that camping is my hobby!!! What do I like to do while camping? Lets see....Fishing, napping outside, Fishing, watching the kids play, Fishing, watching a raoring blaze, Fishing, walking and...........Fishing....

flyfisherman

Well, there's this fly fishing; but it's really not a hobby ... more like an obsession or an addiction. What goes with it is the fly tying; feathers floating around, and little pieces of thread and hanks of squirrel & fox tail into everything. Can be a little irritating when your trying to eat!

The popup is really just a base of operations, an enabler, really.
