Moose, DH and I saw your shelf mod when we met at the beach DOG.  I have been after him to get it done before the trout opener but he says he doen't remember anything except the shower rod poles.  Do you have any photos of the shelves that you could email me?

THANK YOU!!

I'm bumping this up in case Moose didn't see it.  Bill and Cheri, if Moose still doesn't see this post, you may just want to e-mail him.  He's a nice guy and I'm sure he'd be happy to take some pics next time he's in his camper.  It is a pretty nifty set up that he and Paula have there!

yeah I'm surprised he hasn't responded...must be busy working on new DO recipies :D

Actually, you are precisely right, Dee.  They are working on some recipes for a camperro and scout training course they doing.  They also are working on some lower calorie DO recipes as well, since they are both eating more healthfully and working out.  They've motivated me to try to get off my spreading booty a bit more often!

Actually we were trying what I thought was a new recipe, but it was OCCampers Chicken and Rice-a-roni.

Back to the question. I don't have any pictures. I used shower poles for the verticles and I got the bracket from The Container Store that holds the shelf. I used metal wire shelving clips to attach the shelf to the bracket. The shelf is melamine hardboard from Home Depot. I also used picture wire and soft metal crimps to hold the end up. I glued an angle iron on the front of the shelf for strength. We camp this weekend so will take pictures, but believe it's after the opener.

I haven't made that recipe since the Canyon RV rally.  I might have to try it again.  Maybe in the 10in DO so it will feed 8 not 28.:D

Good luck Diedre. I have been working out and mostly doing weight watchers for about 3 weeks. My Dr. told me my cholesterol was too high, get excercise and lose weight. It'll take a while, but I feel better already.

Jacqui, your recipe was yummy.

Fishin BC, when are you headed to the Sierras?  We are headed to Bridgeport for Memorial Day weekend.  We are staying at Paha.

Well darn we will probably cross paths OC!  We are going up to the June Lake Loop on May 16th for the week.  I got a new fly rod, float tube and waders from my hubby for my birthday and can't wait to try it all out!  Told him he is so lucky to have a gal that loves to fish.

If anyone can come up that week we will be at the Silver lake campground.  Green dodge van and 82 Starcraft and two border collies.  Look us up!

Well shoot, will miss you by a week.  My hubby is a huge fly fisherman.  He loves to fish Robinson Creek and the Twin Lakes (Bridgeport).  He is looking forward to finding some local streams around us as well.  He enjoy's going out in the float tube and paddling around.  His greatest catch was a 4 pound ranbow trout out of the Lower Twin Lake while in his float tube.  Maybe sometime we will be at the same place at the same time as you guys.

Jacqui, seriously let us know when you guys might go again.  We try to get up in that area at least 3 to 4 weeks during the trout season.  I have yet to fish Bridgeport, can't seem to get the van to drive past June lake on 395.  But I hear great things about it all the time.  We are tenative for a week in July, one in Sept and one in Oct.  If you think you might do another trip let us know would love to meet up with you all.

Fishin BC--

That is so funny because we have always fished Bridgeport and have never tried June Lake.  DH (Randy) has gone on a couple of weekend trips without the popup with a buddy of his and has fished the Owens Gorge (it snowed on them then), they have also gone to Crowly and Hot Creek.  His friend is a mutant fly man and is hard to keep up with.  We used to go to Bridgeport once a year because it was so far from Orange County but now that we live in the Sacramento area it is only about 180 miles.  We were unable to get reservations in July and August because we needed 3 sites so we are going to try a new place called Shaver Lake.  It is near Huntington Lake and Bass Lake.  Supposedly the lake has some good trout in it.

We would love to meet up with you guys sometime.  Let us know the next time you are going.   Unfortunately, school starts the 3rd week of August up here which cuts into our camping time.  Are you guys going to Yosemite in August?  If so, maybe there are some streams around that are fishable.

It looks like we are headed up to Bridgeport May 6-8 too.  Randy just couldn't wait (and neither could I) till the end of the month to go.  We have never been able to go so close to opening day before.  Not sure if we are going to look for hookup sites or just bring the generator.  There could still be snow on the ground or better yet in the air at that time.
