Hello,
I have a factory installed tow package on an '05 Sienna. It has a 4 Flat
connector. I'm trying to determine how to wire the brake contoller.
Anyone know the wire color that I need to tap into at the brake pedal?
And the wire that I need to tap into at the trailor connector end?
Thanks,

TheViking

If you have a factory tow package, check with your owners manual or your dealer, you may have a plug in for the brake controller.  My Tundra has a tow package and it had one.  If you do, just mount it and plug it in and you are pretty much ready to go.

The Toyota dealer knew nothing and the manual tells you to call your dealer.
The dealer told me that they send them to the local RV dealer. Since
I didn't buy the Camper from a dealer, I'm not expecting any help from them, which is why I'm posting here.
Thanks though,

BTW, where was the Tundra's plug? and what type was it?
Thanks,

The Tundra's is hidden behind the plastic that is by the drivers left foot.  It should be a white "Female" plug with a "Fake" male plug in it.  It wasn't easy to spot as far as I'm concerned.  I ended up calling Toyota Motors USA main office and took it to the dealer twice before they found it.  Funny how they didn't know anything about it until I went to Toyota USA. Toyota dealers are scared to death when you tell them you will go over their heads so don't be afraid to use that against them.  at least you will find out whether or not it has the plug.

Thanks Viking!
This could be the answer I needed! I'll let you know what I find.

OK, there is only one unused plug under my dash and it is white.
It's a 16 pin plug with only 6 pins being used or having a metal female pin
in it. The plug is about 1 and a qtr inches long by 1/2 inch wide.
Does this sound like yours?
If so, the next question would be, which pins do I need since my
Activator Barake Control has no connector, just loose wires.
Thanks,

Thanks,

My Tundra came with a wiring harness in the glovebox. You wire it to the controller and then just plug it in the white female side.  If yours didn't have the harness, you can pick one up at the dealer or search for one on the net.

Got the answer from my Toyota dealer service people after another call to them.
They faxed me a wiring diagram. The answer is that I need to tap into
the "Green w/ white trace" wire on the brake pedal connector.
Then, the Blue wire on the brake controller connects to the Blue wire on the trailer.
I Hope that someone else benefits from this.
Thanks again.

Isn't it Amazing how you can spend thousands of dollars with a car dealer and they still have a hard time helping you out with something that is so simple for them to do, after they have their money of course.  If you wanted to pay them to install stuff for you they would break their backs for you. Good Luck and I hope it works for you.
