Hi all,

My wife and I have joined the ranks of the proud Pop Up owner's guild and we can't wait to hit the trail.

We bought a late model 1989 Coleman Plantation.  We need to do some work on it but she's in pretty good shape and has all the things that we wanted including brand new canvas. She should look nice behind our 78 IH Scout II.

Does anyone know where or how I can get a manual for this?  Do any of you own one of these gems.

Also, I need a battery and may need a back-up one as well.  We're going to take it on a long trip this summer thru CA and most of our campsites are dry.  What's a good battery for larger pop-up campers.

Any advice on septic and dumping of would also be appreciated.  We need to do some work in this area.

It's been a long time since I've been camping in one of these babies. Maybe we'll see you out on the road!

Thanks,

Dwayne, Becky and Isabella

Congratulations! A friend of mine has the same camper, and WOW does it have everything including an oven. I am quite jealous of the hard side bathroom. They are pretty close to the 2005 high wall models. I will see if she has any inside tricks since she has had it for a while now. Good Luck and happy camping. :#  :#

Dwayne and family,

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the board. Another Arizonian on board!

Check out the AZ U R group just starting up here. Just fellow Arizonians getting together and camp. We have a reservation for a group site at Canyon Pointe AZ over the 4th of July weekend. Let us know if you would be interested.

There are 3 of us from Scottsdale here now.

Welcome again,
Mary Romeo

Congratulations on the new PU.  You can try contacting Fleetwood Folding Trailers and see if they can help you with a manual.  You want a deep cycle battery.  Group 24 is standard.  There are also group 27 and 31 batteries.  I use several group 31 batteries for long trips.  The bigger the battery the longer it will last.  Sam's Club sells the group 31 batteries for around $65.  You will need to use some type of "blue" toilet chemical to break down waste, paper and to keep the smell away.  Dumping should be done in a dump station at the campground or into a regular toilet.  Welcome to PUT.

Thanks all for your help.  I was finally able to get a dealership to email me a manual for an 87 Plantation.  If anyone needs it, let me know.
