Is there any interest in a rally over the 4th of July weekend?   :U

How about Canyon Point Campground?  :tent:  I put a hold on a reservation for the Large Group (LG) site there for three nights, July 1-4. It was the last available site in the campground for that weekend. There are no hook-ups at that site, but it is a beautiful campground with lots of pine trees and nearby lakes. Here is the link with campground information

Give me some feedback on how many people might be interested in getting together for a "4th on the Rim Rally at Canyon Point"  :U  . Cost will be $60 for the three day weekend ($20 / night).

If you are interested, either post here on this thread, or e-mail me.  :#

Come on Arizona, I know there have to be some campers out there. Lets get some weekend rallies started.

Anyone else?

Great! Anyone else? I will keep a list of interested folks listed on the initial post of the thread. We will finalize interest in the next week or so.

Hey there,

Thanks for letting me know about this group - I have been looking for another camping group to "fill in" the holes with our normal group ( YMCA Adventure Guides ). However we just sold our "old reliable" Viking pop-up and bought a new T@B -- an oversize teardrop trailer.  But , if you'll have us we would be happy to come to some campouts.
The 4th campout is only about 30 minutes away from our cabin so we won't be camping but we will stop by and introduce ourselves.

Keep us posted

We saw those at an RV show last year and my 4 y/o DS fell in love with them!  Each night before he goes to sleep, we make up a story about "King Griffin" and "Prince Poh Bear"  They are invariably going camping in a teardrop (with a matching color car, of course!) :D

John,

Welcome aboard, we would love to have you join us! Come by and say "hello" over the 4th. We will be in the Large Group campsite on loop B. Where is your cabin located? Looking forward to meeting you!

Bigcoyote33

Hey there,

Our cabin is behind Kohls Ranch ( about 5 miles South of Christopher Creek ). We normally go see the fireworks either in Heber or Payson ( depending on who is having them ).

We have stayed at Canyon Point several times before with our "Guides" program.  It is a very nice campground!

Our Guides group is camping this weekend up at Sunset Crater ( O'leary group site ) , but we are unable to attend because my daughter is leaving for summer camp on Sat. -- So some friends of mine are trying to plan some camping trips this summer - I'll keep you posted.

Happy Camping
Bigcoyote

maromeo

We will be there.

Boy, if we still lived there, we'd be going with you guys for sure!  We camped all the time at Canyon Point Campground.  We love it there. Maybe someday.

Viking,

Wish you could make it! I'll post pictures once we get back. Looking forward to meeting you and sharing AZ stories in October at Temecula.

OK guys we have 5 famiies so far expressing interest in camping on the 4th rally at Canyon point (see the first post in this thread for the updated list). So I will keep the reservations. Perhaps we will get a few more jumping on the bandwagon in the next few weeks.

Well HELLO Fellow Arizonians! I finally found a group of campers to plan trips with!

First off, I just bought my first Pop-Up. Skamper 121C abouut 7 days ago and am going through it to insure a Great Trip with my wife and kids. I am very excited to see other people getting together and having fun camping! I am about to take the family van down to have the hitch put on so we can get out and enjoy the camper before summer is over.

I am planning on making the trip to Canyon Point if I can achieve the few little things left on my list for the camper.  If you are familiar with this style Skamper, drop me a line via e-mail, I have some newb questions!

Well thanks for your time and drop a line  :)

See ya all , from Tucson,  Jim and Vikki

I'd love to see some pics.  We have friends that will be camping up there that weekend, I'll tell them to look you guys up.

I'm so excited to see there is a camping club here in AZ!  We just bought a 2000 Coleman Utah and will have it next Saturday after it gets looked over and the AC installed.  I wish we could join you guys over the 4th of July, but we already have plans to ride the train to the Grand Canyon.  Sounds like you guys will have a lot of fun.

I will have to check out the rally in Temecula.  We moved to AZ from that area.  It would be nice to go back and visit some of our friends. :!

Welcome aboard jimandvik, we look forwarding to meeting you over the 4th at Canyon Point! We are up to 6 families and growing!

strasfamily, sorry you can't make it to Canyon Point, but we look forward to meeting you at a future campout (maybe Temecula, if not sooner). My kids love the Grand Canyon railroad, have a great time!

We moved from Gilbert to California. What area do live in? We lived in the Elliot and Val Vista area. We're going back there over the 4th to visit our old neighbor's. Funny thing is, a couple of the neighbor's will be leaving on that Saturday to camp at Canyon Point . That's kinda freaky.
